Got the gears in and everything is good to go, even though im trying to be easy on them, the truck feels WAY stronger, judging by how much better it pulls i think its safe to say a solid 4 tenths on my quarter times, i dont think im gonna have too bad of tractions probelms to get it either.

While she was on the lift i gutted my front 2 cats, pretty simple and the truck sounds much better, throttle feels a lil better, and its not even throwing any codes...thanks Tony, you guys are the best, 4.88's FTW!!!

Im gonna do a separt pic and write for the cats...

Sweet. I'm lookin fwd to doing this too. I rarely track it but I think it would liven it up on the street tires.

Dont remember exatly what i paid had em a few months, think around $700. The truck feels soooo much better, better track times will be a no brainer (expecially being my truck is nearly stock). Best i got was a 13.2 the other day, full street trim, 1.9 60 fts...ill def post a thread once i get broke in and back to the track bud...

i'd like to know if your going to have to shift to 5th before you cross the line(and that will of course hurt your time) in the quarter. i'm thinking your going to hit the rev limiter otherwise.

Im sure i will have to switch, but im also sure that the extra pull ive gained will cancel out and still net decent gain over that final switch

Sorry to disappoint you, but your ET's will not change in the quarter. If it does, it will only be by very very little. It does give a huge seat of the pants performance difference. Have fun!

5th gear does NOT like to be power shifted or shifted with full torque as in a 1/4 mile. It's an overdrive gear and not very strong at all!!!

Welcome to the VTCOA.

If he is still on his 31.5" tall street tires he will be fine in the 1/4 mile. Theoretical top speed @ 6,050 rpm (Factory setting) is 116.179 mph in 4th gear. Now if he switches to the M&H drag radial (390-40-17, 29.5" tall) the theoretical top speed drops to 108.80 mph

I run outta gear on street tires with my 4.56's! I could only imagine 4.88 losing speed!:(
Of course since all any of you kailua drinking Florida boys run are 1/8 mile you'll see an improvement there if you can hook ;) :burnout:
Loom forward to results bro

Finally a little logic, thanks bud...i am not currently running slicks, that will be much later down the road...

I was running high 12's on stock street tires with my 4.56's and not running out of gear (06 RC). But if you're already running out of gear with the 4.56's and having to switch then whats everybodies issues with having to switch with 4.88's? Come on people :stupido:

The street tires height is perfect for 4.10 or 4.56 but I think you'll rev limit 4th before the 1/4 mile. I've ran every size tire that fits our trucks and I love a 31-32" tire with 4.56. My M&H slicks are perfect! 390s are to short imo for 4.56. 4.10s or auto trannys love them though.

Yeppers...ive ran 4.56's and liked them, wasnt wild about the 4.10s cause on a stock truck and stock tires i was able to bog the engine pretty well launching with them, so i tried the 4.88's and love the feel so far, alot more fun around town as well. Track times to come in a month or so, that should hush some of the heresay up :p:chain::D:burnout:
