I have just begun my search for an 05 or 06 SRT Ram. Looking for one that has very low miles (under 25000), mint, and all options.

My questions are these : What should I be looking for when inspecting any of the trucks ? Any particular issues that I should be aware of ?

In preparation for the "new arrival" I am selling my 2007 Tundra SR5 with the following detail : I am retired and original owner : 34,000 documented miles : Platinum warranty until 2015 / 75,000 miles : Never through an auto car wash : One of the best ultra low mile, original owner, Tundras in the US !

Oil lines and power sterring lines seem to always leak. Wheel bearings have been an issue on some but usually that is found out while going down the road and the rim falls off. Listen for a roar while driving for that. They all have noisy top ends when first started so dont worry about that. If you go quad cab the trans arent the best from what I have seen here(I have a RC so that would never be a problem for me). And last but not least is for some reason the gas gauge on every one I know of drops faster than any other vehicle on the planet. Welcome to the cult and good luck with the search!

Low mileage on these trucks and "garaged" does not mean they won't have problems! These trucks need to be driven. And most owners drive these trucks like assholes, so low miles doesn't mean pampered miles!

Stay away from QC's. If you want a QC buy a diesel lol. My 05 RC has over 100K miles and little to no issues. Oil and Power Steering lines are a given for leaking/replacing. Overall very reliable trucks. I'm with NSDQ...I'll take a used vehicle that has been used regularly over a garage queen any day.

Hey now, go easy on the QC's! Mine has 122k miles on original tranny and engine! And it's been far from pampered although I try to when I can! Likely about to bite the bullet on the tranny though here soon and pick up a built one from a fellow member :D

 I'm around 125K but hasn't been driven much in the last year or so...5-6K miles at most. Still all original as well...

That's awesome man! Mine's been sitting since September while I'm in Afghanistan. I can't wait to get home and cruise!

I just bought a 05 RC with 18,360 miles on it manual trans bone stock other than someone thinking they were cool and adding stripes to the hood and tailgate

I paid 24k from Carmax

Has few paint chips but other than that its super clean :) and not for sale :)

Buy a rc you won't regret it as long as its a 05 ;)

Why does it gotta be an 05? I have an 04 RC i just bought with 30k on it and so far so good. Once i replace the tires and brakes and power steering lines and oil cooler lines annnnd get it through emissions lol

Pop the hood and look for a massive blower sitting on top of the motor. If it doesnt have that, close the hood and keep looking. Jk Jk. I had to get a quad cab because I have a family and I have no regrets, sure the reg cab might be a little faster, but not enough to warrant sacrificing all the space of a QC. Oil lines has been my ONLY problem and Im at 83k :)
