Engine sounds like its knocking when idle

Engine sounds like its knocking when it idles. What it could be ive checked everything that i can think of any help is good help.:dontknow:

Our lifters are known to be quite loud.
Not saying what you have is normal, just putting it out there.

Post a video if you can.

I have the same issue. Seems to go away while im driving, but at idle it definitely sounds like it possibly could be a knock, but i thought that was somewhat "normal" for this motor. I rented a viper srt 10 in vegas last april, and i vaguely remember it having a similar sound.

Yea thats how mine is just sounds to nasty when it idles.

Is it a 6 speed? With clutch released at idle you can hear a slight knock or rattle from input shaft of tranny. Could be what you hear. Almost all manual trannys have some noise when idling and clutch out in neutral. :burnout:

Mine is not a 6 speed. I got the 4 speed auto in a quad cab.

Yours could be the flexplate broken

Ok at idle with clutch out listen for your knock. Then simply press in on the clutch and see if it disappears sir. :rock:

It's what your torque converter is bolted to that transmits power from engine to tranny. Has teeth for starter to spin engine over. Should be covered
