For those that have done there rims, have most painted the back side as well? If not, can someone post a pic of just the front dipped black. I am thinking that with a rim this big, you could see the inside/backside and it would look wierd?

Do most take the rim off the truck to dip them, or spray with rim on?

Thanks

Just paint the outside of it...take your rims off to not dirty the calipers.etc

I personally did the whole thing because the inside being shiny looked strange. Be sure to put it on thick or when it's time to remove it, you will regret it. Also, wd40 works great at breaking it down for removal.

You will notice the inside more uncoated....either way you decide, be sure to paint the backside of the face it will hold up a lot better.....trouble getting off??.....use a pressure washer with a zero (0) tip...

First try was pressure washer with 0 tip. Doesnt get it all. I put mine on too thin and the water couldnt get up under it. wd40 sprayed on it then it just wipes off tho. found that out on the last rim.

Wow zero tip will usually take the black off a....well you get the point...at least at 2300 psi it will :):):):)

I learned that the hard way when I did the green. Took me FOREVER to get some off that was too thin. And your right a pressure washer didnt get all of it but def. helped.

don't know if it is cheaper in US but i spray painted the back with normal black spray paint semi gloss.
Normal can costs about 7,00 euro (9.20 $)
plasti dip can costs 19.50 euro (25.62 $)
That's here in europe.... :(

Plastidip costs less here than a can of spray paint there.

And it is temporary. No way in the world would I Actually paint my orginal stockers(just me). If i had replicas maybe.

I agree, if I keep my truck and decide to change the wheel color I would plastidip or powdercoat like I did on my first truck.

2300 psi= weak sauce son LOL

This ain't your daddy's craftsman bra..lol :):).2300 is the lowest setting, too much carnage at 6800 witch is the max it goes up to....at max with the zero tip you can write your name in asphalt...really its too much pressure to wash cars, even with a .035 fan tip...plus my wand is like 3 inches longer than yours!!

I prefer to keep the clear coat on the rims ya know. Dont need a strong pisser on my pressure washer to feel manly LOL
