While trying to shed a couple pounds for the track this weekend I purchased a Braille AGM battery (stock battery 43lbs, AGM 21lbs). Anyhow I have never had my battery out before, and I have discovered that we have some type of (I assume) safety switch under the battery that I assume kills the motor if battery was to bounce loose. Do all years have this?

All years have it but I think its actually a temp sensor of some kind. My truck never missed the battery not being in the tray with my rear mount battery kit

That's bc you put a teddy bear in the tray to keep it all warm and fuzzy. Tell the whole story man.

yep, that is a temp sensor.

its used to help calculate what charge it needs:playingball:

Hmm... no sh!t huh, learn something new everyday!

When running a 93 tune would it help any to run higher octane? If so, do any off the shelf octane boosters really work or would it be better to just add a few gallons of race fuel to the gas tank???

There have been some great threads on octane booster's. The consensus seemed to be that alternative fuel (race fuel, touline, etc), was superior to any of the octane boosters.

How much did that battery cost if you don't mind me asking?

Epic phone auto correct fail, supposed to be "it has"
So, your "auto-correct" changed "it has" to "orgasm"?

The cheapest I could find it was Jegs and Summit @ $229. At 21lbs its not as light as the 9lb lithium ion battery but that was $700-800. You can check them out at braillebattery.com

A little bummed, everyday the weather for Sat keeps getting warmer, said almost 80 now. Was really hoping for 60's! And unfortunately I have other preset plans with the woman so I can only stay at the track till mid-late afternoon, not really being able to capitalize on peak track conditions... what ev. Still gunning for a 12.7!
