Another example of speed kills

This is something that hit my wife and I hard when we saw this story. Mainly because of the thought of how we quickly saw how it could have been us. The peoples names are the same as my wife and I and they have a child(the only survivor of the wreck) that's nearly the age of our little girl. This is why I think high speed on highways is dumb and needs to be taken more serious by officers towards offenders. None of these people deserved to die no matter the drug use or the innocent mother driving her baby to the grocery store. I don't know this family personally but keep the husband in your prayers especially.

People don't realize how fast it can all turn to shit at those kinds of speeds and on the public highways what kind on damage you can do when your 4 or 5 thousand pound moving object hits something and unloads all of that kinetic energy. It's called Collateral Damage and most of the time innocent lives are lost for no good reason.

Exactly what I was tellin my wife. She couldnt understand how a tiny Hyundai did so much damage to a Toyota Sequoia(sp). Smaller mass has more impact at higher speed. A glob of steel the size of a baseball goin fast enough can destroy an awful lot.

This reminds me of this picture and back story I saw of a motorcycle rider that was traveling at 155mph and impacted a VW killing not only hisself ( ) but the two occupants of the car. The impact flipped the car, a motorcycle hitting a car unleashed enough energy to flip the car!!

I remember seein this years back. My sister in laws birth father died from something like this. Him and his wife were on way home on their harleys and a guy goin 80-100 came around a long curve in a car in their lane and caught him head on. His wife was a few hundred ft behind and barely missed being in it as well. Driver of the car lived until last year when he fell into a main highway at midnight drunk and got ran over by severla vehicles.
