Just changed my plugs with bosh platinums had a hard time getting wires off plugs . Was wondering if a plug is getting fowled or goes bad would it flash a code on the check engine light? It seems to be running ok but sounds a little different to me it might be all in my head but any help would be appreciated. Thanks

a spark plug wire can a pain in the buttocks, in my best Forest Gump voice, even with the "proper" tool.

are they the stockers???

if so, might be time to replace.

either JTSVP (Tony) or Adam's wires are the only ones i know.

it will & should.

mine was a pretty good miss before it threw a CEL

Throw the Bosch in trash and out Champions back in her. I'd be happy to get you wires if/when you're ready to remove intake sir

Changed out the plugs and put in the champions rc12ecc gapped at .035 and let me tell you what a difference !!!!!! Idles and runs better. Anyone thinking about using anything other than oem ----- don't . Thanks venomous1 racing

I want to go with the NGK'S what is yall opinion on those or should i stick with champion

I really like the iridium plugs. With our V10's being a "wasted spark system" the plugs take twice the beating.

irridiums platnipuss;s eh , all more money then there worth, stick with ngk champion a normal plug and they will work fine, change out every 15k an she will stay fresh for ya

Per the advice from Scott I purchased some new champion Rc12ecc plugs.

Any advice on taking the stock plug wires off?

I have tried pulling them with medium force but don't want to break off the connector

Do I just go for it with maximum pulling strength or is there a trick I'm missing?

My 10 has 36K on it if that matters

Im just changing them because no real reason.

Some advice:
Buy an extra plug and some Dielectric grease. Apply to wire boot only for easy removal.
Good to use ant-seize on threads as well.
Remove heat shields from Exh. manifolds, 3 bolts, and remove each plug shield with vise grips.Grab boot with your hands and be real careful not to break em'. (gloves)
If you mark each plug with a sharpie, you can "index" each so the electrode points up.
The extra plug will help as sometimes you cant get the index right.
A little extra work but worth it.

The best wire puller I found is Thexton THE334. Amazon has it for $17 although mine came from a tool truck. Fits between the boot & the heat shild. Try to twist the boot first before pulling

Twist bout on plug first both ways then pull. Works every time. Gloves are insurance against busted knuckles when it does come loose. ;)

Wanna change my plugs as wires....I want red color wires....can anyone add a link for the plugs I should get and red wires to go with them....only mod is a k&n intake, and exhaust ( if these matter)

champion Rc12ecc from post# 15........you will need to remove the intake manifold to replace the plug wires. this task is not for the faint of heart!!! there are a couple of bolts that are difficult to get at. put some masking tape on the top of the bumper. You will be kneeing up there alot..........have fun!
