Will be going 16" with grinded caliper, is anyone running M & H 31.5/12.0 16 nostalgia?
So many options not sure which way to go.
With all the racing, there should be a Sticky note stating sizes that will work.

I have done lots of searching.

thx Adam

The sticky is a good suggestion. I know a guy that can do that. ;)

Also, here is the link to the calculator I used to give you the tire size recommendation that others can use to do the same:

http://www.precisionsite.com/auto-x/tools/

There is also an equation that you can use to do this by hand that Trainman provided me several years back. If you prefer the pencil and paper route.

better do work on rearend first .Slics will put a beating on your spyder gears, just saying. ;)

Drag radials are actually harder on the drivetrain than a full slick.

Seen a lot run DR's and never eat gears .As soon as they go to slicks ,crunch crunch .;)

I'll be testing mine out this summer, we'll see what happens.

Did you at least put a set of cryoed spyders in it .

The death zone is dropping clutch at 4000 to 5000 rpm repeatedly .:burnout:

Seen three eat it so far .Its kind of a sick sound too

Hell no! I'm waiting for the weak link to present itself before I replace perfectly good parts.

Like Andy said, slicks are much easier on the drive train because the sidewalls have more give to them. Drag radials will normally give you a few more mph top end though. I've run 26/10.5/17, 31/12/16(the ones you're looking at), 28/14.5/16, and currently run a 30/14/16. You're going to need BIG power to run those nostalgia slicks because they're just too tall, how high are you going to rev the engine? As far as durability I was dumping the clutch at 4500-5000 NA, eventually broke the limited slip. Replaced that and added cryod spiders and now I'm doing 4000rpm on a 100shot of spray.

Thanks for the input, No cryo yet, when I break I will go cryo'd. M&H 30/14.0 -16LT looks to be the ones I will try, then go from there. Plan to drop at 4000-4500 and once I get the feel and shifting down I plan on a 100 shot or more.

I'd go with the nostalgia slicks if you're going to spray, the 30" might be too short with spray and 4.56

Same thing I recommended for him. I'd say great minds think alike, but you already knew that. :D

no long bars here, caltracs traction bars.

Sounds good then, will stick with what was suggested. :burnout:

I run the M&H Cheater slicks, which are 30" high, work great. I will be using those with my more powerful NA engine to come. I feel the Nostalgia slicks are too tall at 32" and will only slow you down unless you have big power. Trust me I know a little about this subject.

Can anyone fill in the blanks to the chart then we could have a better idea on what does and doesnt work.

Lets take the guess work out and start racing. :dontknow:
