Guys, looking for personal experience feedback on your CenterForce clutches. While personally I've have great experiences, I'd like to see yours. Mileage, years installed, quality, performance, etc.
Thanks and your feedback helps improve parts available for our beasts!

2. No issue, but would try another
3. Hate it, POS have me nothing but issues

I have installed two of them, and have a brand new one sitting in my closet. They hold power great but seem to have release issues for me. I still have yet to find a clutch that can be shifted as quick as a stock one, when shifting at higher rpms I always can feel and hear the gears grind and then click into position, it subtle but it happens. It's also really bad about toasting the fidanza inserts on the flywheel. Its hard to completely trash it though as much power as I put through it.

I will not be installing the new one that I have, just saving it incase I need one asap. (I've scattered two clutches) I will not be buying another one.

Do you actually want this thread set up as a poll? or just the way you have it set up?

I have used center force and spec and I like the pedal effort of the spec better. Also if your going to make 800rwhp stay away from center force. Clutch would hold ok on dyno but on the street it slipped badly. I am currently installing a mcloed twin disc.

Any reason you chose the McLeod over the Spec twin disc?

I bought the clutch over a year ago and really couldn't find a lot of feed back on them. I have probably used 10 spec clutches over the years between mustangs and srt10's. Never had a issue with a single one. But when your spending $1600-2k on a single clutch I ended up going with what was proven is all.

I was leaning towards trying the spec but I'm where you're at, $1600-$2000 is a lot of cash to drop on something that is mostly untested with this vehicle.

All of these votes and only Charlie's feedback on an 800whp truck? C'mon guys, I wanna hear about normal trucks and boosted/nitrous trucks. Look up specs blowing bellhousings and floorboards open when they fail ;)
I wanna hear fail stories on CenterForce as well as love stories :)

I had a stock mopar clutch do this, unlike others I admitted how it happen. 1st-2nd-1st shift, and I never let the clutch out, it just spun the input shaft up and scattered it.

Alot of the experience I have had are with normal powered truck. I have a centerforce in my qc at the moment with around 20k dd miles with no issues. I had the spec in the other truck also with no issues and I likes the pedal feel of the spec.

all clutches will have there failures, I think we understand the speaking of the spec and why ,If you search clutch failure on almost all manufacturers, you will find some kind of failure, 95 out of 100 will be happy but you will only hear from on any social media from the other 5

but all clutch failures are usually related to improper install or not purchasing the correct clutch for the trq you are making, that is where an experienced person comes in to rely on, or contact the manufacturer.

we dropped with centerforce because of customer service, and reliability, time and time again of not supporting the hp they claimed, plus the supposed balance ring that usually would fly apart, we switched to spec, which they so far will go farther with us than about anyone , we recently worked a deal with southbend also, which they are huge in the doosal market, but even they have there failures. So far our specs "we" have installed we have had no failures, from 600hp to well over the 1000 mark.

Mccloed is a super nice clutch, with the right set up , if you truly want the be all of be all, Badboyz has the best out right now, centerforce and a few others are good for very mildy modded rides , that is in my opinion, which here, Im sure the post will get ripped apart, and the opinion will be read into by the ones that matter,
Enjoy and by all means .....keep Rockin the hp;)

i exploded a stock clutch at the track - sooooo... maybe they're bad, too...

i'm not sure if this is supposed to be a spec vs. a centerforce thread at this point...

that being said, i'd buy another spec based on my experience over a centerforce, no matter what anyone else said...

basically i have no use to be in this thread :D

bumping post count……………

i'm sure ill need a clutch in the next year…………………………. or less………..

this truck is just too fun, plus my driveway is short and STEEP, so when i back in (combat parking in case that lightning comes back by……) i have too slip the clutch a little so i don't take off the mirror or the wall to the house

You don't want that clutch. It will be very on/off and more than likely chatter badly in our heavy trucks. Also you have no idea the power ot will hold. When they rate a clutch for a viper they are thing 3500lb. Not 5500lb truck which will make a difference

Stick to body work charile

why on earth would you try out a new clutch when there's proven ones already out there?

Someone has to try it. Im not scared
