Rumors say that Chrysler is planning to reconsider the 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat. The 2017 model is set for release with possible modifications in the design and even the powertrain.

2017 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat – Exterior and Interior

Fans are curious to know what design modifications this pickup truck is going to receive. Many rumors have been spread and we have learned that it is going to come with scooped hood. The design is going to be somewhat similar but it will receive some touchups. There won’t be any significant changes in the headlights and the grille but the front bumper is going to be redesigned and integrated fog lamps will be installed. The rear is expected to get slight revisions as well. The truck will be offered in 22 inch Y shaped seven spoke wheels. An optional 24 inch wheels with the Brembo brakes will be provided too. These are some of the modifications in the exterior. Moving on to the interiors, 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat is not getting major changes. Leather seats with Alcantara will be provided, and the center console and dashboard are going to receive updates. Flat bottom steering wheel in leather wrapping will be provided having additional buttons to let the drive control the navigation system and the 900 what audio system. Brand new instrument cluster having SRT badges will be there too. Along with this, 8.4 inch touch screen and theUconnect infotainment system will be provided. To make the car sportier, rotary shifters are going to be provided. Nevertheless, it is going to have everything that will make it a sportier car from not just the outside but inside too.

Now let’s move to the engine of 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat. The 6.2 liters supercharged v8 engine is capable of generating 707 hp and a torque of 650 pound feet. The car has received some tweaks in not just design but the engine too. The truck version will not be capable of delivering more than 600 hp but it is better than the HEMI V8, which is known to be the strongest engine of Ram yet. This vehicle, like other pickup trucks will be offered in rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive. It is going to be topped by 8-speed auto transmission. This powertrain will be capable of delivering the kind of performance any buyer would be expecting this time from Ram. The performance of this truck would easily take it into the sports category.

It is expected that 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat will be released in the market by the year 2016. There is no official information available regarding the price but the starting price is expected to be $55,000. Most of the information is based on speculation because there is a lot of time in the release date and the designers still are in the middle of bringing modifications. Fans have to stay tuned and see if the automakers give updates about the truck through any Press Release.

I would be extremely surprised if they built that truck, auto or stick.
 
I just don't see how this would get done. They seem to have enough problems making enough engines for the two platforms they are currently producing.

Yeah, like a real Diesel engine
If Cummins is making a new 1/2 ton engine it should be in Ram not a Datsun. From what I hear them Echodiesels are crap.

Make that 3, as I am pretty sure the HellCat JGC is going into production.

The HC Jeep is a go thats for certain. If they were to make a HC ram with an auto it would sell if it has at least 4 doors.

Just like there is a market for the raptor an off road truck that most owners never take off road. I see a large market for a fast 4 door pick up truck since there arent any.

In about 2-3k more miles it will most likely need those. That is the mileage we have been replacing them at. They aren't bad trucks but definitely some bugs to work out.

On the subject of Hellcats. I was at a Mopar event this weekend in Rockingham NC and there were several hellcat challengers. Only one of which was running faster times than a lightly modified Ram SRT RC. It was disappointing to say the least. Driver mod was seriously needed.

Do you recall the trap speeds? Im just trying to figure out if its because the owners dont know how to drive them (prolly the case).

Not exactly. I look at high 12-low 13 seconds on the clock and dtopped my head shaking it. literally only one of em ran better than my near stock times. Wife was kicking me for not bringing the 10 for some great videos.

I will say this....track prep was perfect. Many people lost their shoes on the start line and everything was hooking beautifully.
