Seeing some listed with just the number and some with the various combo of the a and b added. Is their an actual difference or are they all the same filter?

5281090 ba

5281090 bb

5281090 ab

There are some small changes made to the part when the letters are changed, but overall they are the same filter and will work. However I would recommend you get the white viper filter that ends in 836AA.

So that would be 5281836AA? I have one on now and need to order another one. I guess I could look under the truck but I'm not by the truck right now

Viper Oil Filter

I use A White Viper Labelled filter # 5037836AB. You can find some on ebay for $22.00 bucks.

Not to rain on anyone but Walmart has the correct filter that I have been using for 125,000 miles. No silly, not the same filter but the same type. I have had other filter blow our (ask Scott) and use the Walmart exclusively. It is a MOpar 409 and cost $6.67----so cheap ya can change it every time ya change the oil. LOL

Thanks! That's just what I figured.

17 bucks at my local dealer

Hmmm, 17 bucks from stealership vs. 7 bucks at Walmart for the same filter. Man do I got an ocean front lot for sale in Arizona just waiting for you. Send me your deposit and I will send GPS driving directions. :D

They're talking the Mopar Viper specific filter. They're around $17.

I recommend you use an 090 not 409? You sure that's what you're using?
