What a great helping hand you are. That is why we are close as a group. You help someone and someone help you next time. Pass it along.
What does the larger governor pressure sensor do? How much for all the parts, and where did you buy them?
You really hooked him up! Good job! Curious, why didn't you go with Amzoil for the engine and rear end? I want to add a Detroit Tru Track to the rear, and plan to use the Amzoil for the lube. I'm already running Amzoil in the engine.
Good question. I just use it because it was the factory fill and I like Mobil 1. It’s really a personal preference, I know the SRT vehicles now run Pennziol from the factory. If you don’t mind me asking why upgrade to a Detroit Tru Trac? Is the factory limited slip differential not performing good enough?
It increases the line pressure and also helps out with some of the issues the factory one tends to have. Like the stuttering, some of the gear searching under light throttle, and with the increase line pressure a little stiffer shifts(not as harsh as a shift kit though). Way better improvement over stock. I usually get my parts locally. They have them online, I would just search 48re Borg Warner solenoid kit. Comes with a new Borg Warner solenoid and a new transducer.
Thank you so much brother. I’m so grateful for your help with the truck. I got back from my 800 mile drive from AZ with the truck and went to take my lady out for a spin that that evening the damn thing wouldn’t start. Ughhhh hahah ♂️ I became a member of a forum that night and started going through posts. Figured out the key trick to check the codes found that it was a crank position censor and o2 sensor codes I was getting. Was able to change the crank position censor but I’m not much of a mechanic. I searched all over the forum for trusted mechanics and had called around but no luck. The local dodge dealership wanted $225 to start tearing into it. It was a bit to rich for my blood, and luckily after hanging around the forum lurking and reading. I found @Srt10650 had just done a bunch of work tuning up a buddies vehicle and saw that he had mentioned that he was in the Bay Area. I messaged him and was on the phone with him and within a couple hours I had driven up to his house and dropped it off. I’m so grateful that This community is around to support this truck. This is my dream truck and it’s been quite the month figuring all this stuff out!!! Wow hahah. Thank you Salvador!!!! Your the man, and I got a homie for life!!!! Vroooom vroooom. Now to go out and drive. (I heard our exhaust kills corona virus )
Hey you are right. I don't have a virus so it must be right. Welcome aboard and really good news on your truck. I know what it is like to have your dream truck and find out it is in need of ....things. Well done Salvador. If you are ever in NZ....
No, my rear works fine, but I have a bad wheel bearing. Since you have to pull the axle's to replace them, I thought about an upgrade. The Detroit can handle close to 1200 lb ft torque, and the slightest slip of a tire, it locks the other wheel.
Yes, this is my issue. It "stutters" as if wanting to shift into second, but can't make up it's mind. The shift from second to third is real quick, don't remember it being that way when I first bought the truck last years.
If you had the same issue, I would do/replace the parts I did on this truck. And it should fix your problem.
