Curious, does anyone have a bump steer kit on their truck? I was running a Lexus the other day on a road that's rated at 45 mph due to turns, etc. We were running around 90, and there was a turn that was a bit bumpy. It made me do a white knuckle with the steering wheel because of the bumps. Are they worth the money, and if so, which brand is the best? I have a McGaughy 2/4. Would appreciate any feedback ya'll might have on this.
I know JTSVP offered a kit back in the days, but don’t know if they offer one now. Did you replace you front sway bar endlinks with shorter ones when you lowered it?
Funny you should mention the sway bar end links. I'm getting them replaced this weekend actually, along with an oil change. So you say shorter? I think the endlinks are stock, can they be adjusted?
No, but there’s some shorter ones from Moog that work perfect. Here’s the part number K80337, there for a Ford truck but they fit perfect and work great with the drop. Better than the stock height end links.
I was unaware of the Ford links Srt10650 mentioned... Good info there!! I just bought new front and rear end links, measured how much needed to be removed to allow the sway bars to sit parallel to the ground, and had them modified to fit. Terrible pic but you get the idea... I was surprised at the improvement in handling after running so long with basically no help from the sway bars.
These are the Moog ones, left are the stock height SRT10 end links and the ones on the right are the ford ones I used for my drop. I like them because they fit perfect and they come with the zerk fittings to grease them.
I found these 2 kits online but I can’t say if they work or not. I’ll try and find a picture of the kits JTSVP offered.
This is the JTSVP kit, looks pretty beefy and nice. Maybe we could call JTSVP and see if they have any(I don’t see them on their website)?
Sooo, they just replied to me, they no longer carry the kit. I asked if they had any recommendations on a brand, waiting on a response. Will advise.
Ok, it's me again, they replied and recommended this website "Michigan Metal Works". Here's the link to the kit: http://michiganmetalworks.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=76_80&product_id=135
