Painting tailgate

So I took the beast to the body shop today to see about getting the rub off that the cap caused painted on the tailgate.

They told me that I had to get the entire tailgate repainted since each rub stripe is 7 or 8 inches and some of it is down to bare metal.

My question, does 250 bucks plus I have to supply new badges so about right? They would sand down the tailgate and can perfect match the paint.

I'd pay it.. But then again you'd be surprized how much I would pay for stuff.. Money runs through my hands like water.

Sounds fair to me. A dealer wanted $500 to do the same for me. Needless to say I did not pay that much.

I had someone dig the Ram off my tailgate and they had to repaint and clear the entire outside of the tailgate...plus all new badging...... 485.00 bucks

Arg!


But, then again, thats why I have no stinkin badges anymore

I found a guy on ebay that makes viper alluminum billet cut badges

sounds like a good price. Figure 3 hours labor x 40 dollars an hour + 3 x 20 dollars an hour for materials. Not bad

lol that's just crazy. but if i were seth, i'd also pay it. i really think that it's worth it. i have just bought replacement tailgate and it costs a lot so i have decided to install in myself. lol. :rock:

I was quoted about $400 from a reputable body shop to repaint, pull out 2 dents, and place a Viper logo badge on when they are done.
