I don’t have much time to say what I have to say because I am on limited power at the moment, being in Houston.
After spending 4 full days with a group of individuals I barely know, I can say that I have learned quite a bit. No words… NO words can describe or convey the full scope on how I feel about our members. Sadly, we were not together long enough for me to learn and remember all of your real names (probably because I was drunk most of the time), so please forgive me if I refer to you only by your screen names. Anyway, it’s hard for me to know where to begin because I seriously have a lot to say about, and TO those who attended; and, although he could not make it, I have much to say about and to Borden (Steve). When I would wander off to be alone (or escape the madness at times) somehow it was always then that Borden would text me as if we’ve been bosom buddies for ages. I really appreciate that Steve and it was almost as if your were remotely watching out for me.. One day we will meet for sure.
I don’t want to sound ghey or anything but I didn’t think I would have shed a tear after going my separate way onto the sunset following the GTG; I actually shed one or two and I’m not ashamed to admit it.. It happens..
It may not have seemed like it openly but the only disappointment I had about the whole thing, other than more of my Houston brothers not being able to attend (like z-man, OSO, Blaine@PSI, slow91, BigRed460, BigIke and silverqc) along with more other members (like Roz, Griff62 and Borden), was the parting at the end Sunday morning. Fat(Jack), FST(JACK), Stinker (Tony), eddie, ntw0rk (Scott), 04moneypit, Mutt, FlyingLow, Scrambler1, IH8CHEYS (Ernie), FastFood (Greg), The ITCH, IronHead (James), HotRam, NBT (Kenny), Griff’s SRT (Marc), 6PackAttack, EMT, Justin, AMTrucker22 (Paul).. AND last but certainly NOT LEAST, Labontecsi (Todd). You all had a hand in a great experience for me that I will never forget. I just hope you all feel I treated you half as great as you all treated me. Handshakes could never be sufficient enough as hugs were. I always said that VTCoA is a family, but I got to see how true that fact is first hand. Without getting into details, some unfortunate things transpired over that weekend that required help from fellow members, and I have to say I was witness to perseverance and caring for one another at a phenomenal level that I am happy to have seen with my own eyes. Everyone took part to make sure that every last attendee was comfortable and content.
Some of you guys brought your significant others and from the bottom of my heart you are lucky men. The women of VTCoA (Mrs. Griff, Mrs. Stinker, Mrs. Eddie, Mrs. Mutt, Mrs. Ironhead, Mrs. JMB Justin, Mrs. 04MoneyPit, Mrs. FSTJACK, Mrs. Ntw0rk, Mrs. FatJack, Mrs. EMT, Mrs. Itch, Mrs. IH8CHEVYS and Mrs. Labonte) are simply beautiful inside and out. They do put up with a lot of shit and they did have their time to have a blast and shine (which almost resulted in the entire crew being sprung from the premises). I am glad you all came out with your men and enjoyed yourselves to he fullest. I was jealous wishing I had a great lady on my arm too. But fun was had by all and that’s what was important.
I will post up all of my 200+ pictures when power is fully restored at my house. Oh I almost forgot... The SHOUT OUTS..
Mutt, the legend, the man behind the drinks (and probably some divorces). I never had a Mojito before and yours was damn good. I very deeply appreciate the hat you gave me. It matches #1900’s color scheme to a ‘T’, and it was for that reason you offered it to me when you didn’t have to. I do hope to hook up with you again my friend. Take care of that sweet little wifey of yours.
I want to thank Ernie (IH8CHEVYS) for nominating me to win the Best of Show trophy. That trophy is for all of you guys of VTCoA that directly and indirectly (knowingly and unknowingly) guided #1900 to the great condition she is in today. She ran proud and strong back to Texas and she’s now sleeping in her room (the 300SRT is jealous).
Labontecsi – brother you have a beautiful family that treated me as if I belonged. Your father-in-law is great. I wish I were in your shoes bro. If I had a father-in-law like that he would be my best friend.
Stinker – you me and labontecsi bonded while we waited alone for Big Ernie and Kenny to come back with the wrecker for the Brutal 10. If we three were there any longer we would have been skinny dipping in the pond. I wanted to put you in my pocket and take you home with me buddy.. to pet you and squeeze you and love you and call you George..
NBT (Kenny), my brother I am shaking my head right now because I am going to miss you man. Remember what I said, let’s not wait another two years before we meet again bro. You have a heart of gold that just will not lose its luster.
FatJack, you are really the kind of guy I can sit down with a beer and just talk to about anything. I realized there is lots of wisdom for a guy like me to learn from you.
HotRam – you’re quiet and friendly. You don’t post much but I believe you should. It would be great seeing more of you around here.
AMTrucker22 – another one that’s quiet but doesn’t waste a second to help someone out. We didn’t have much time together but I can tell in that little time that you’re a standup guy.
Eddie – bro you are not what I expected. You are awesome. Your son is a darn good kid. He will go places and make you proud, I am sure of that. We didn’t get to say good-bye but I hope to meet with you again. I’ll be looking out for you on XBOX Live.
FSTJACK – the essential glue that binds us all together. There never seems to be enough time speaking with you Jack. I know you have lots of interesting information buried in your mind that I wish I could tap into to aide in self improvement. I look forward to meeting with you soon, wherever that may be.
Ntw0rk – you are great people buddy. You and your wife have impressed me in many ways. Without a doubt I have to meet with you again.
FlyingLow – it was an honor for me to be of service to you. I hope I didn’t keep you awake with my snoring. I apologize for you being the one I came out of the closet with. YOU know what I mean. Stay safe while patrolling our skies. We are all with you.
The ITCH – Bro, you are outstanding, being yet another member the exceeded my expectations. I hope the next time you run the scooter at the track you decide to wear a cape.
FastFood – I wish I got the chance to swap recipes with you. But I knew you were on vacation and just needed time to relax.
IronHead – my running mate, my wingman. We watched each other’s back to and from and the trip was successful with no troubles whatsoever. When you want to hang out or need something while I am in town just give me a shout buddy. I’ll be there if you need me.
EMT – You rock for what you do buddy. I wish I had your relief efforts here right now. HAHA..
Justin – Bro you dazzled me with the way you handled your truck down the track. Makes me proud to be a silver surfer..
04moneypit – I want to thank your wife for constantly being so concerned about my daughter in Houston.
Scrambler1 – That is one kick ass SS you got there.. Makes me want one now.
6PackAttack – YOU should have been the one to get best of show. Your truck is amazing.
Okay I have to sign off now. But as I said before I will be back soon with pictures..
VTCoA ROCKS!!!!
