So i went to the track thinking it would be fun. Well come to find out it was a big joke. For one the dam lightning guy was a no show. Two since that happen you would think i it would be consider a DQ for him. But no it was just an oh well and lets ignore the srt 10. I didnt work an all nighter and show up to with no sleep to be ignored. Talking about being pissed. It was just a waste of gas and time for me and my fiance. Sorry guys for venting but just a note for the future if they try this crap again.

sorry to hear, man :mad::mad::mad:

was this supposed to be a VTCOA vs a lightin forum deal????

if so thanks for repersentin the Viper trucks:rock::rock::rock::rock:

I assume you still ran your truck down the strip.

That's all that matters... have fun racing what you brought! Don't let one other truck owner screw up the evening.

What did you run?

What track did you go to? Let us know next time so maybe some of us can go to show support.....I havent been to the track in so long, I need to go back.

I'm planning to run at the Mopar Nationals this year. It will be my first time on the track.

I only ran once down the track and for my first time at a track i ran a 13.2 on oem and spun alot. Well since he didnt show they didnt even enterview the srt so it kinda pissed me off. I think they should have just to prove a point between the 2 trucks. I feel like i did horible but atleast i showed up. It was held at the Royal purple track in Baytown Tx.

13.2 isn't bad on stock tires...the real question is what was your speed? That will be a good indication of your horsepower (or driving skill) even with street tires . With your mods the speed should be impressive. Post the full time, speed and et, 60' time and 1/8th mile speed and et. I'm curious if those Strikers are doing you any good....you may have to send them to me:D:rock:

Damn bro i was there in the back of the track watching. There was a few lightnings and the blue one running 13.8@99mph and a silver one with a built motor and whipple but couldn't catch what he was runnning that night. Last yr that same silver lightning was running 11.8

I agree 100%.

So post up the raw data, b/c inquiring minds want to know. :) If you're in the 550+rwhp range (and probably easily are with those heads + cam), then truck can run 11s with traction. It's always hard to harness the power on stock tires.

I'm very curious about the Strikers in an RC combo.

This was going on Jan 8 in the morning from 6a-2p. Trust me no Lightnings and was the only truck out there. You might be talking about at night.
Times: R/T .5 1/4 13.2 @ 108 60' 2.2 1/8 9.05 @ 84
Remember was my first time at the track so have no clue if its good or bad:dontknow:. I was spinning alot as well:burnout:

Those Strikers are killing your time, remove them immediatley and ship them to me:D. Use 93304 for a zip code to figure shipping...I will pay the shipping and send you a perfect set of stock heads (mine have gone 118.15 mph):itsme:
Seriously, your speed should be much higher, even with traction issues. What RPM did you shift at? Do you power shift? Have you ever Dyno tuned the truck?
Temp in Houston was 61 degrees at noon and the DA was 209'....your speed should have been 8 to 10 mph faster than 108 in the 1/4 and at least 6 mph faster than 84 in the 1/8th.

Power shift? sorry new to racing bought it mainly for show. Torrie tuned it at 511 hp. Wanna say shifted @ 5600. Also had 55 psi in the tires.

I would run 25psi in the rear tires. That will help a little, but again OEM tires will be tough with the kind of power you are making.

511rwhp... you must still have the stock cam in the car, but that should be good for 115mph, I believe.

5600rpm? I'd shift it no lower than 6000. But that's just my opinion. Take a look at the graph on the dyno sheet. I would shift ~300rpm over peak HP to keep it in the fat part of the HP curve the longest.

Power shifting = not lifting with your right foot when shifting. With stock tires, I am not sure power shifting would help much at all... would just create more wheelspin.

Good luck! You'll get better each time you get out to the track.

He's cammed for absolute sure!!! I heard it in person and thought as well it would run better and put down better #'s? Striker's and Cam shoulda put him in the 600's I'd think? Regardless shoulda trapped 118-120 with the setup?:dontknow:

Yeah, I just went to the YouTube link he posted, and it sounds incredibly mean... cammed, no cats.

No cats. it's my driving skills for sure. Not one to race just like driving fast. That would be a no on power shifting so lost some time. On that
