I'd say drive each, and talk to anyone you know in the service side of a dealer or large garage. At least around here, you'll get more options/newer/lower mileage for the $$ in a Ford, then Dodge, the Dmax will be the most pricey. I also flew from NY to OK and drove it home 1500 miles...
