There are Scanners on Amazon for $25 that plug into the OBDII port that are surprisingly useful. Unlike this post (that is surprisingly useless), as the exact one I bought is unavailable at the moment so I can't give you a current model number.

The Q.C.s have a major torque boost of 80 lbs.ft. (under peak), with a good tune. Best power per dollar mod, ever!

Yes, I confirmed it with my Tuner who has been tuning Viper engines since before there were ANY controllers. As mentioned, the earlier MPVI3 is the better bet as it does work with JTEC controllers. The newer 4 should work on some future date.

By the way, The MPVI4 does not work with our JTEC Controllers (SRT-10). You would have to use another unit like the MPVI3 for datalogging/tuning. So, look after your original SCT if you have one. That one will tune at least.

So many questions, so little time. This particular device uses a data logger hooked into the OBDII port and a pc or via Bluetooth to a phone or tablet of some kind. And it uses free software to make it happen. The data leaving the OBDII port on our trucks is slow compared to modern systems, but...

Yes, light-years ahead of the original Tuners for these trucks. Data logging is a huge benefit.

Either your Cam or Crank Sensor is weak/failing or the wiring to it needs some repair as the e.c.u. is sensing low-voltage. A PCM "update" from what it is now to what??? What did the dealer claim? I wouldn't believe that diagnosis for more than a second or two. Yes, see what Torrie has to say...

Good luck with the project. Stick with the size of the threaded hole you want when choosing the Heli Coil, and all will be pure awesomeness. And...Remember to break that hardened steel tang after installation (with a small punch), so it ends up being in a safe place rather than carving something up. Or affecting fastener torque laying at the bottom of a blind hole. The only effective deterrent for No-See-Ums is WINTER. We'll, maybe...
