FYI

Saw a post on my Viper club. Autozone is discontinuing their line of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum full synthetic oil. The stuff is made from Natural gas and is what SRT recommends in the Vipers and Hellcats- will probably work just fine in Rams and anything else...

They are selling them CHEAP.... $2 a quart CHEAP.

I've already hit 3 Autozones here in Ocala and have 60 quarts of 0w-40, 5w-20, and 10w-40.

Check you're local Autozones guys and gals.

For that price, I'll try it out.

Is there a reason for why it's being discontinued?

I'll be dropping by my local auto zone on the way home. Thanks for the heads up Pete.

Yes, Excessive bearing failure in Mopar Products

ROFL, well 0w-40 in a motor this size might as well be water in my opinion.

Works great in my srt-6 though which needs an oil change and holds about 8 qt's. Time to search.

So in my area I hit up 5 autozone's. Only found 1 with the 0w-40 i was looking for, its the one with the srt label on it. This one did have castro 0w-40 on sale for $2 as well so I cleaned them out, ended up with 14 qts total. 12 penzoil 2 castro.

None of the other autozones even carried the 0w-40 penzoil so this is basically a hit or miss type thing. I'll search some other autozone's tomorrow since I have a $20 free credit I need to use.

0w40 Ultra is factory fill on all new SRT vehicles, it's still a 40 weight when warm the 0 just helps with cold starts and getting the oil to the critical areas faster than 5 or 10. And it was factory fill in Mobile1 for these trucks..............

but i use Shell Rotella syn.:D

stopped by & got oil for the truck last night, $125 worth of Shell & there was not any Penzoil on their shelves. that would explain it:rock:

It will probably all be sold out by the time I get back to the states. I could use some 0W40 if it is Euro spec oil.

Thats all I run in the srt-10 now since the rebuild, good stuff and its cheap.

Is this sale nation wide? I stopped by autozone in town today and didn't see any sale.:dontknow:

It is nationwide but it depends on the district apparently. 2 Autozones a few miles apart --- One had the sale one didn't.

Just have to check them all. For $2 a quart i couldn't afford not to spend a couple hours finding out. 101 quarts usually prices at 9-10 bucks you do the math. Colossal savings.
