Hi guys,

2004 RC.

My crappy stereo broke and since I wanted to change it anyway (but thought I had more time) I might as well do my research now.

I want to run a Kenwood DDX6903S for apple CarPlay -

https://www.ebay.com/p/Kenwood-DDX6903S-6-2-Excelon-Double-din-With-Apple-CarPlay/1370166362

I also need to get the bezel -

Dodge RAM Double Din 2002 2003 2004 2005 1500 2500 3500 Matte Black Navigation | eBay

Thats as far as Im sure! My truck had the stock sub removed so I'm going to have to build a new box.

What speakers and amp would should I use? I'd like to get best bang for the buck, the hard part is the shipping overseas.

I would like it to look as stock as possible with amps hidden and no extra frills, but sound very crisp and balanced, I would like full warm bass but not so that I can't hear the other frequencies.

What set ups are you running?

How much did it cost total?

Any other advice you could give?

As always,

Eternally grateful guys,

Houb

Here's what I'm going with, I've got the new pioneer 7800 flip up, cause I didn't want to swap the bezel, and Rockford power series 6x9 doors and 5 1/4 rears, I got the pioneer gm D9605 5 channel amp and they are bypassing all the infinity stock amps, and i ordered the stock sub for it but i don't know if I'm going to run it I might drop a 15" kicker inside there , btw mine is an 05 reg cab

Sounds wicked!

Where did you mount the amp?

Where are the stock infinity amps located?

The setup hasn't been installed yet cause it's still at the tranny shop, but it will either go under either seat , plenty of room under there and since my stock jack and rods are missing, one amp is under the center console and the other is behind the glove box

I really like Infinity Kappa speakers. I have Kappa components in all 4 doors and the sound is very loud and crisp. All amped

$400 for the stereo $350 for the amp $150 for each set of speakers some I'm already at $1050+$250 for the stock infinty sub, if that sub don't put out what I want and they can't make the 15" kicker fit I'll be in another $500-600 for a sub and a box

That's way much for a 15" kicker sub with box or for something that's comparable to that 15. I have a 15" kicker L7 it was in my caliber srt4 and that bad boy needed 4 cubes to let it start singing well :)
There is a lot of non main stream brands out there that can preform sick at low cost. For 600 bro drop two nice 10s it will have more surface area then a single 15 and those to 10s can give you a nice all around sound, big bass and sq.

I thought about some nice sundowns 10"
Or 2-12" type R

probably around $1000 +/- what do you reckon?

Ok so in my cart I've got,

Kenwood Headunit
Double Din Bezel
2 Kicker 3.5" tweeter - 20 Watts RMS Power
2 Kicker 5.25" speakers - 75 Watt RMS
2 Kicker 6x9" speakers - 70 watts
1 Kicker 10" sub - MS Power Handling: 400 Watts

Now I have no idea what amp to run or whether 1 will be enough or I need 2, any advice on how to work it all out or what amps could run this system would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys,

Houb

If your running the list you posted. Just get a 5 channel and be done with it. The kenwoods are nice. JL are awesome though a little pricey

That's why I went with with the pioneer 5 channel gm-d9605

Excuse my ignorance, but if i'm running 7 speakers how can they all wire to a 5 channel amp?
Am I wrong with me thinking a channel per speaker?

To be honest if you gonna run those speakers a low grade 5 channel would be more then enough. Get a kicker 5 channel and you would be done. If you buying online I'd definitely hit sonic electronics. They have great deals on mainstream products and have a lot to choose from. I'd get rid of those 3.5 tweets as they are not needed running a small upgraded system like the one you are putting together.

Nice 6.5 components up front mid bass in your doors and put the tweets in the stock dash locations then throw a set of 6.5s coaxials in the rear doors and you good to go with your kids and highs. Then drop your sub in with a will spec box wire up and enjoy

I'd love to run a high quality monster of a system but I just don't have the dollar for that man.

Reason I went for this set up is because I'm based in Dubai and I don't have a lot of choice so going with what I trust and can easily get here.

So you think the tweeters aren't necessary?

Do you think this set up will be good in an RC, decent sound quality?

I think I've got the sizes right but can someone confirm that?

Doors 6x9"
Rear panels 5.25"
Sub 10" in a custom box in factory mount?

You don't need big cash to get great sound my friend especially if you can do the basic install yourself (YouTube does wonders) but anyway try to see if you can get 6.5" kicker components (a little better front stage sound the 6.9 coaxials) that will fit the front doors using 6.5s brackets. It's an easy install. Then instead of those 3.5 tweeters(you don't need um they are overkill) use the tweeters from the 6.5 component set and put them in the dash stock location. Perfect! I personally would not run rear speakers in a rc if I'm only running a clean simple system with a single 10" sub. I'd just make sure to power those front door speakers to its full potential and it will keep up with a single 10" sub no problem.

But in ur case if you wanna run those rear speakers you found they would be fine and it will give you more volume. Good luck bro I'm sure you would be happy when your done I'm here to help if you need it.
