2024 Post Ho Thread

Damn I hate searching the internet for parts

Dakota hubs in route and truck cover cancelled waiting for approved refund ..

The fun begins when I replace the hubs ,,, I hope the caliper bolts come out and go back in without dripping again .. I’ll replace pads also just to last longer …
I also am going to get a Heli coil repair kit if any strip .. and I can’t fined the factory size caliper bolts .. Just in case !

Damn already got 4.52 miles walking and it’s 1:30 pm now .. could easily do a record walk if I wanted to but I’m not going to .. Im trying to keep it around 5 to 6 miles per day .. to damn hot here in this hell hole and to much rain thunder and lightning everyday .. The rain brings out the No See um’s in swarms that attack you and get all over you , Itch city in your hair .. makes you have to get in the house and shower them out of your hair … then the state birds come out and you have to keep moving to avoid bites itches and welts lol .. there is no repellent for the No See Um’s …

And...Remember to break that hardened steel tang after installation (with a small punch), so it ends up being in a safe place rather than carving something up. Or affecting fastener torque laying at the bottom of a blind hole.

The only effective deterrent for No-See-Ums is WINTER. We'll, maybe Deet.

Im hoping I won’t need to install any heli’s .. If the caliper bolts come out and not strip any of them I’ll be good and the job will be quicker ..

The concern if one strips or more then I may have another problem since I’ve already installed the over size self threading bolts the last time I did the brakes … Then I have no idea if the helix’s will be the proper size or drilling out the holes will be the same as those in the kit ..

Good luck with the project. Stick with the size of the threaded hole you want when choosing the Heli Coil, and all will be pure awesomeness.
The folks at Heli Coil also make a tougher Military spec coil.
If things REALLY go south (like stripping a hole for rocker gear on an aluminum head), there are Keenserts, that can really save the day!
A wire wheel shines those slider/pins up and makes them nice and slippery, as they should be.

Deet is no good , Barley keeps mosquitoes away and only for a very short time ..

Oh true!! Forgot about those lol
Yeah , don’t need any … Heck the surprise thunder storm that popped up and ripped up the truck cover that has survived several hurricane and tropical storm . No warning and never got update with the weather app .. But got the word from Tampa airport there were 72 mph gusts … birds flying couldn’t control their flight and looked like they hit a wind sheer and dropped hahahaha ..

Heck I was outside walking when the wind started and the dark clouds moving in over the area fast .. I was looking for a tornado
