I know we have been trying to plan something for the longest time and it still needs to be done. This weekend I am without the better one and a half so Im going to eat some BBQ. I am either going to Kreuz' in Lockhart or Coopers in Llano. The only reason I will do the Coopers run is for the drive. Kreuz is much better BBQ but the drive is all straight hwy. It is however much closer to Houston and San Antonio. This is depends on the weather, if its raining i would say its not worth it. Here is the link to both establishments if anyone would like to go chime in and we can decide.

Which day? I'll be ready to go..

WOW the brisket at that German place is expensive. I only charge $7.50 a pound and I KNOW my brisket will rival the hell out of theirs. But I'm willing to try whatever.

It is supposed to rain all weekend but they have been wrong a couple times . I doubt I can make it as I already am tied up with hog hunting . Now if we get enough hogs that may just be the next GTC and yes Chris BBQ ,but could get skunked so no promises.

Everything is about food with you.;) :p :p :p

I agree the price of Brisket is way to expensive. My family owns a cattle ranch and fortunately every year I get about 600 lbs of beef that has been on a 3 month feed program. Beef is king in my book but if you go to Kreuz you have to get the Pit ham. I normally cook hams on the pit for 6-10 hours in a bath of pineapple and seven-up. When you BBQ no matter what your own BBQ will always be the best. :D Mike is correct the weather forecast is rain all weekend but last weekend was decent and we had the same forecast. I guess we can only play it by ear. Now if he can go kill some hogs we are set. Mike are you going with dogs or just gun hunting? I havent been in some time but had a friend whose dogs where a trained pack. Three dogs would bring down a hog and you could get up and stick it with your knife. I have to say that is a good hunt. I quit hunting a few years back since I figured all the bad things I had done to animals was going to come back and get me. Tell me you havent shot an entire flock of quail with a bb gun.

Ain't that the truth?;)

Nope Chris Dogless . One of the guys who used to work here had Hog dogs ,he bred them but he quit to work for the Gov. in preditor erdication and he loved killing more than painting . We may set up a few traps and one guy going is Indian and swears he can make a brew irresitable to hog (I believe when I see ) The population is growing so fast most ranchers will pay you to kill them as they are very distructive . To be honest I like the meat a lot more than bought meat as its range run chemical free and the wild ones tend to be leaner than store bought . If we get enough I will put on a spread and everyone is welcome . Hell sounds like me and Antony need to get together and fire a pit or two , I'll bet that smell would even bring the yankeeees down for a GTG

The guy I had work here did it for a living he ran 4-6 chase dogs and since they are so expensive and a hog will tear the hell out of a dog you send in the Pitbull for the kill and get the catch dogs out .
I dont have that problem but I think I live a balance as I help abandon, hurt animals all the time and I do not hunt for sport . I only hunt to fill the freezer so my Karmas good <G> Now the old days might be a bit differant
Only a flock :( how bout rabbit hunting with machine guns or maybe dove hunting where they are soo thick you get 4-6 per shot LOL
