I'm sure gpnPike will get on here and update us (or start a new thread), but it turns out he may be in for some fun in the near future. He was driving the SRT today and he said the engine started ticking/knocking fairly loudly. :( We aren't sure what the deal is. Is that what it sounds like...
That's awesome, both of you guys! Now where are the before/after pics :dontknow: ? How often do you go the gym and what do you usually do? Lots of cardio, or do you do some strength training also? Keep up the good work!
That's a lot of car for a 16 yr old. I hope you guys have fun with it and it doesn't end up wrapped around a tree. My first "car" was a 1986 CJ7 with the 258. I miss that Jeep.
I had an engine shipped through Yellow one time, never again will I ever ship a motor! I will drive half-way across the country before I would ship something of value through one of those companies.
Oh yeah...engine looks nice!
No problem. My dad is a factory-trained Ferrari tech. I think the FerrariChat forums have some wanna-be's on there, but if you can wade through some of that BS, there is some good info.
I used to autocross mine. It was a blast! The SCCA puts our trucks in the same catagory as some models of mustang and camaro. YouTube is blocked at work :( , but if you do a search for usbman23, you will find a video of one of my autocross runs. I think it is named Andy _____ Auto-X or...
If your truck isn't lowered, you don't even need the jack. I could slither under my RC and change the oil sitting in the driveway. You can get the oil at walmart for $50-$55 and filter at the dealership for $6-$8.
As said before, shame on you for going back to them. However, it definitely sounds like an inside job. Manager or service tech steals expensive parts, dealership pays to have it fixed. I would say go after them! If nothing else, maybe you will prevent future problems for others. I'm sure...
These types of problems are the worse...:argh: . Back when I was working on bikes and atv's, I had a Yamaha Big Bear that was having starting issues. I tore that atv almost all the way down to the frame trying to figure it out. I ended up pulling the entire wiring harness out of it, and in...
Sounds like a short. I'm also not convinced that the Green/Black wire is a ground wire. What exactly does the wire connect to in the engine bay? Just the block and chassis or a connector?
Getting the starter checked is a good idea as well to eliminate that as the cause.
