I would think they put a compression gauge on each cylinder and check the compression on each to see if they are holding the same reading or close to the same reading.

i havent seen any thin kind of double sided tape. the factory usually has it on all of the emblems but I havent used it at work we usually just order new emblems. I work at a body shop just to let you know. I can ask our paint supplier If you would like.
