Well I went out again to the truck to start removing the plenum and the supercharger oil was back at half way up the sight glass. That's a relief.
I was also able to get the plenum off without having to remove the supercharger. It took me 4 hours including the time to modify some tools. It...
Well the weather dried out and I got a chance to take the truck out for about 20 miles going through all the gears. I gotta say the transmission shifts are smoother than the stock one, but firmer and faster. That's the best I can describe it. There is absolutely no slippage in between gears. The...
2500 stall. It doesn't bang through the gears under normal driving but then again, I told him I didn't want it to do that. I have yet to test it at wide open throttle. That may change the shift characteristics because of the line pressure. The triple disc converter does lock out aggressively.
I haven't really been able to put miles on it on than the ride home the other night. The weather has been on and off rain the last few days. One thing is for sure, the shifts happen really fast and precise.
The Thermotec stuff in the link is what I used to protect the cladding from getting to hot with the side exhaust and to deflect the engine heat from my intercooler reservoir. It is not design to keep things cool but rather keep the heat out.
Home Depot has foam in spray form but my best recommendation would have been to actually plumb a cooler. Supposively, even using a cooler would only net you a couple of runs before you would have to drain it and add new ice. You might also want to try West Marine. They definitely have foam they...
Got Dusty's (HTS) transmission in last night. Drove it home approx. 20 miles and so far so good. I have to fine tune the kickdown adjustment this weekend and put some more miles on it before it gets put to the test.
Hopefully Dusty will chime in and provide the details of the build.
