I haven't seen anyone fit a 15" wheel without modifying the suspension and wheel wells. The stock leaf springs can be moved inside the frame rails but a custom fuel tank has to be used. If you have details on doing this without these modifications I would be interested in the details.
I am heading into Yellowstone tomorrow for a couple of days and can scout out some spots. I have found a place in Billings MT that has camper rentals and will even deliver them and set them up in Yellowstone for a fee - might beat sleeping on the ground.
That doesn't sound like a solid fix - sounds more like the problem temporarily went away. If you have a short then my guess is that replacing the fuse and relays would have energized the circuit long enough for the shorted area to burn through the conductor and create an open circuit somewhere...
Justin at JMB Performance did one of my motors and Arrow Racing did another. Roe Racing is another good place to get parts. If the cylinders are scored and need to be bored then your only real option is to go forged. If the cylinder can be rehoned to get your crosshatch pattern back you may...
I just watched your video and I have to agree with others it sounds nothing like a rod knock. Too tinny sounding. Doesn't even sound like it is internal to the motor - like a pulley or something is making metal/metal contact.
This is a good explanation:
When discussing engine tuning the 'Air/Fuel Ratio' (AFR) is one of the main topics. Proper AFR calibration is critical to performance and durability of the engine and it's components. The AFR defines the ratio of the amount of air consumed by the engine compared to...
RC manual transmission has a metal inspection plate as well. Dealership should have said something if it was hitting though because it has to be removed to get the oil pan off.
Those A/F numbers are rich not lean. Stoichiometric is 14.7:1 which means 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel. A lower number means less air to fuel ratio - a.k.a. a fatter mixture. You get the best power being slightly rich although I think being a full point rich may be a little too much for a...
Ralphie, where did you get it dynoed at? Did the tech that dynoed it say anything the low numbers? How low where your A/F numbers. Did the dyno tech run it in 3rd gear?
You mentioned this all started right after the truck was dropped off of a jack - any chance the bell housing got damaged and noise is coming from the flywheel. I think the bell housing is aluminum so it wouldn't bend so you might need to check it for cracks and breaks. I didn't see if this was...
You state that you have a Paxton - is your blow off valve working correctly. If not you could have your throttle blades trying to close against boost pressure from the supercharger.
PCM could be adding fuel and retarding timing to help cooling. I would be surprised if it did this long enough to foul plugs but I guess it is possible.
You could contact one of the existing vendors and see if they would like to run the group buy for you and you can make them and the vendor can sell/distribute them.
I don't have any specific numbers as a goal. I am just trying to overcome some of the issues that I have with the Roe setup. Not knocking Sean's work because what I have been modifying would make a kit too costly.
