Decided to at least finish the driver side, still have to finish the passenger side, bleed the brakes and just enjoy the truck again!

Decided to at least do the driver side parking brake shoes. The old hardware was definitely showing its age and with a lot of rust. Cleaned it up with a brush and some brake fluid, the shoes still had some meat on them but we’re definitely aged(16yrs).

Parking shoes and hardware finally came in today.

By any chance does anyone have the ARP parts numbers for the crankshaft bolt and head stud bolts for an 05 Ram Srt10? I’ve search but I get a couple of different part numbers. Thanks for the help!

They’re holding up really good, that’s how I did my front calipers also. I used the Duplicolor caliper paint kit.

Your correct, I was getting confused with the rear since I’m currently working on them.

I actually broke my old pistons with a screw driver and hammer. But yes, I have heard they shoot out pretty good with compressed air.

Once the caliper is off the caliper bracket, yes I do recommend you split and take apart the caliper. The reason I recommend it is so you can have room to clean out the rust from the bores. Otherwise you are unable to clean them with a wire wheel and drill. But to each there own.

Im wasn’t taking about taking the caliper apart. So just so we’re on the same page, the caliper is mounted to the caliper bracket and the caliper bracket to the spindle. The picture he had was to remove the 2 bolts from the caliper bracket to remove it from the spindle. I was suggesting he...

Rebuild complete, have to wait til Tuesday or Wednesday to put them on. I decided to put new parking brake shoes and hardware as well. I said might as well knock it out and don’t have to do anything brake related for a few years.

Sorry to hear about your issues. If you need a fuel pump, the issue will not fix itself, and will only get worst. I would replace the fuel pump before your truck leaves you stranded somewhere. After that’s done I would do a full reset and go from there.

Tapes off and looking pretty good. Just need to clean a few things with brake cleaner and should be good for the rebuild.

A few more coats of paint and should be ready for the rebuild.

Crazy, I would try to remove the caliper first and then remove the caliper bracket. Once you remove the caliper, remove the pads and I would spray the tip of the bolts. Hopefully that helps.
