    Famoso Test & Tune Sept 24, 2016

It's a tuning issue. In 1st gear on the street, right at the hit on the throttle it stumbles. I hadn't noticed it before because with street tires I have no traction so I never really hit it hard in 1st gear. I had the slicks on the truck for the first time driving it out to the track, once I...

    Famoso Test & Tune Sept 24, 2016

I have mixed results. I made 2 passes and set a new personal best speed on both runs. Previous best mph on the stock engine was 118 mph in the 1/4 mile. I am still having a problem with the tune. I was launching at about 3,000 rpm (before I was leaving at 4,500)....getting use to the new...

    Famoso Test & Tune Sept 24, 2016

The final test and tune of the year at Famoso is this Saturday. Gates open at 10 am. I really hope to have the SRT-10 out there for it's first test pass on the new engine. Come on out SoCal. SRTBrad is working, so if anyone has a video camera it would be cool if you can make it out there.

    LONELY SRT10 IN SO-CAL

I know this is short notice, but the final Test and Tune at Famoso raceway is this Saturday, Sept 24th. Gates open at 10 am (20 miles north of Bakersfield). I am going to make a real effort to bring the SRT-10 out for it's first run on the new engine. Chris Jensen is going to send a tune...

    10 Quickest SRT10's

Actually the truck has been running, just having tuning issues. Chris Jensen has been super busy with his job at Porsche, hopefully get some time for me soon. The Firehawk is actually a 2000 ( 434 inch LS1, Harrop Hurricane intake, 700 hp NA at the flywheel, 6-speed of course). And I am having...

    Trainman's Ultimate NA Build

Sorry. I apologize, I took your first posting as being sarcastic, not as a compliment. BUT,...I did not resort to any name calling...which you just did...so you can retract if you like. I try to be civil. I wasn't saying your numbers are worse than mine. Everyone knows Dynapac numbers are higher...

    Trainman's Ultimate NA Build

So I got to thinking since you only believe in the mustang dyno, and used .82 factor to reduce my power numbers.....I thought I would check out some other factors. With my stock engine I ran 11.68 @118 mph, 4400 lb race weight. Using the Wallace ET calculator for horsepower, it said based on ET...

    Trainman's Ultimate NA Build

Some minor tuning, and waiting for Bogart to finish my 18X5 front wheels so I can run the M&H bias ply front runners since I have bias cheater slicks in the rear. They don't want me to run radials on the front. Soon I hope.

    Trainman's Ultimate NA Build

So do you think I will be in the 12's for the 1/4 mile....since you know so much . 597 won't be enough to beat your 11.51 NA record......Or maybe you would like to wager that I can't.

    Trainman's Ultimate NA Build

Dyno numbers look good. SRTBrad was there to video with 3 cameras and several mics so the video should be great. Peak horsepower was 729.346 at about 6,050 rpm but was over 700 from 5,500 to 6,500 with very little drop at 6,500 where Chris shut down the pulls . The torque flatlined at 697 from...

    Trainman's Ultimate NA Build

Good to hear from you. Yes I can still shift. The surgery was minor cleanup on my rotor cuff, I still pitch fastpitch softball, play racketball 3 times a week and can still shift.

Chris says he likes the Dynopak because he can load the truck throughout all the rpm ranges. It's his preferred method for tuning. I trust him.

    Trainman's Ultimate NA Build

Going to meet with Chris Jensen for final 91 octane street tune and MS109 race tune on Saturday May 7, 2016 in Santa Fe Springs at 1pm. Hopefully SRTBrad will be there to video the results. We will be using a DynaPack dyno.

Just barely.....waiting for the final tune...then to the track for some new NA record times.

Altitude is high there , probably not the best for drag racing.

    Trainman's Ultimate NA Build

I won't be at Willow Springs, I only drag race, no curves for me. Hope to get the final tune in the next week or so, waiting for Chris Jensen to give me a date for tuning.

    Trainman's Ultimate NA Build

Getting close, I had a strange noise starting while I was backing up. A sound I had never heard before, thought it was in the rear end or brakes, a real grinding sound only in reverse. Turns out the left front wheel bearing had failed. Fixed today, going to call Chris Jensen for final street and...

I was thinking Dom already had the record....and in just 1/4 mile (183....awesome!).

    Trainman's New Train

The gentleman I purchased the train from paid $20,000 in 1990. He then spent the next 20 years and $43,000 in detailing (brass piping, fittings, pumps, valves, rivet detail, turbines, etc), not counting any of his labor. I had contacted several live steam custom builders as to an estimate of...

    Trainman's Ultimate NA Build

No issues with A&C, the problems were with the power steering rack, which was the original, truck was bought new by me in 2004, it now has 70,000 miles. The small lines were leaking at the fittings, we finally last week put in a rebuilt steering rack. hopefully problem solved. As far a A&C there...
