Agree with mopower - go see an NHRA race when they come back to Pomona. You don't know what loud is until you hear Top Fuel/Nitro funny cars leave the line. You can literally feel your internal organs vibrate as they go by, the nitromethane burns your eyes and nose, and you'll be picking black...
I wear re-useable rubber earplugs whenever I ride to cut down on the wind noise - simple, effective, and comfortable.
Some of the guys at work wear electronic headphones - they amplify sounds at low sound levels, but cut off and muffle at a certain db level. They're nice when using pnuematic...
There's an E60 M5 in our shop right now getting a full SuperSprint exhaust system - $20,000 in parts alone, plus the motor had to be removed to install the headers - still sounds like ass:confused:
