    What does your knuckle show?

Just so I understand, what was on top of, or below the leaf spring? I lost something along the way. Btw: divco13, thanks for joining us here. Your inside knowledge is very much welcome. The trucks are a dying breed due to people totaling them.

Engine I.D. - where is it located?

Totally understand. I would think the numbers would be the same location on both Viper cars or trucks. I just wonder if the parts manual is just a typo where they put ”Left” when it should be “right”.

Engine I.D. - where is it located?

Now I’m really messed up. From the post Wifey posted, they say the Engine I.D. is located on the lower front right side near the oil pressure sensor. The Vin is located on the rear of the engine below the head. The picture I posted from the parts manual shows the engine I.D, on the rear of the...

Mystery Food Weekend is 1/2 way over!

Still have about 15 cans. I need to celebrate the last can opening somehow. Make a rule like no matter what it is, it must be eaten. Kind-of like the Fear Factor tv show.

    JULY 2024 TOTM - 2005ViperRam!!!

Thank you for votes everyone. Yesterday I took the calipers to the powder coater, since the sand blaster guy was done with them. I should have them back on Aug 15th. Kind-of at a standstill until then. The only thing I can do now is take off the valve covers and have the sand blasted and...

Everyone wants to see a clean hole. What’s joyful is being able to stick your finger into that hole. Problem then is you start thinking about the little Dutch boy and are afraid to walk away.

    JULY 2024 TOTM - 2005ViperRam!!!

Here is my 2005 silver truck. I bought this truck very cheap due to it being totaled for hail damage. I don’t think many people wanted it because the bumper front end was in the bed of the truck, and it looked really bad with just the metal front end showing. When I bought the truck 2 years ago...

    JULY 2024 TOTM - 2005ViperRam!!!

Here is a picture of my 2005 Black truck. I bought it back in 2012 (I think) and used it for a while. Then I lost interest for many years. About 4 years ago, since I needed a hobby since I retired I decided to get back into it. The truck runs perfectly, and about the only thing I’ve had...

Engine I.D. - where is it located?

The valve covers don't. However, since I will be it that area I was just kind of curious where the numbers are. The picture shows it on the right hand side (passenger in the USA), and the write up says its on the left hand side (drivers in the USA).

Engine I.D. - where is it located?

Btw: the reason this came up is I want to take the valve covers off the silver truck, since it’s in pieces while I wait for the calipers to be powdercoated, and decided to go ahead and remove the valve covers to get those powdercoated. The valve cover look terrible. What I plan on doing is...

Engine I.D. - where is it located?

This doesn’t make sense to me. What am I missing? On a 2005, by looking at the parts manual, where do you actually look to find this number? What am I missing? (See both pictures)

Mystery Food Weekend is 1/2 way over!

Mystery Food Weekends 1/2 way over! Thank God we are down to 18 cans of mystery food at my house. Kind-of reminds me when I was in the military. We started with 40 cans when the mishap began. Never! Ever! tell your grandkid that they can have all the can labels to support their school...

Calipers - why is my truck such a “Gold Digger”?

Calipers - why is my truck such a “Gold Digger”?

My son was trained to be a network hacker breaking into networks. He finally returned to the US and had to convert from the red team (attack) to the blue team (defense) due to Federal laws. He called me immediately and told me to watch CRWD stock. I haven’t bought it yet, but I will.

Calipers - why is my truck such a “Gold Digger”?

When rebuilding your front calipers, would you reuse your pistons? If not, why not? The reason I ask is Mopar 05143399aa are about $30 each, as long as you don’t go to the dealer. When you need 8 for two calipers that add to a bunch of money! It seem like if they are not cracked, they would...

Trivia - Moog Upper Control Arms (UCA) - Why is there a "Mount Inward" on dust boot?

I am doing both trucks at the same time. What started all of this is I had a faulty wheel bearing in the black truck. So thinking that since both trucks are 20 years old and have over 140,000 miles, that I should go ahead and replace both. That lead to, why not just replace all the front...

Trivia - Moog Upper Control Arms (UCA) - Why is there a "Mount Inward" on dust boot?

Hey all, I know there has to be other newbies like me out there so I will post this Trivia I just found out. I am replacing my Upper Control Arms with Moog CK7424, sometimes called K7424, arms that include the dust boot. For some reason Moog doesn't put the dust boot on, so you have to go...
