    Caliper piston seized

Yep. They are easy to fix, but for $75 I’d rather have another shelf spare available.

    Caliper piston seized

I couldn’t believe it either. I was so quick pulling that credit card out. Those front calipers normally go for $$hundreds$$.

    Caliper piston seized

Actually I stumbled around and found a 2005 ram SRT-10 passenger caliper for $75 today. I was quite shocked.

Misspelled Vulva. Being a guy we know the difference between crappy cars and female anatomy, even though we “drive” them both. ~lol

Beating the sh*t out of the rear rotors for hours…

Forgot to post this picture from the Rock Auto website… Yes, the ones I purchased (which are not listed anymore) crossed to the SRT-10 Mopar part number.

Beating the sh*t out of the rear rotors for hours…

The SRT-10 has two types of brakes on the rear. The normal disk “pad” brakes that use a caliper, kind of like what is used on the front, but a different part number. It also uses drum brakes, which uses “shoes”. The shoe brakes are located inside the rotor and are for the emergency brake...

Beating the sh*t out of the rear rotors for hours…

I ended up buying the ceramic pad, and the regular rotors. For my black truck I broke down and got the expensive drilled and slotted rotors about 4 years ago. One thing I can figure out is how someone would replace the rear drum brakes. I don’t see how you would ever go about replacing them...

Beating the sh*t out of the rear rotors for hours…

Orgasm time! Wow, if I smoked I would light up and bask in the afterglow! I feel like I just left P. Diddy Freak Party! So here is the update on removing the rear rotor on my 2005 QC. I went to Home Depot to purchase the 1/2 inch x 3 inch Grade 8 bolts. The bin where they should be didn’t...

Beating the sh*t out of the rear rotors for hours…

Replacing the rotors because they had scoring on them when I removed the tire to flip the spring. That, and that Rock Auto had them for $18 each. To grind them down O’reilly’s wanted $28. The brake pads are really cheap, like $8. I really thought it would be as easy as the fronts were.

Beating the sh*t out of the rear rotors for hours…

I am now in the process of flipping my leaf spring from the bottom to the top (reverse lowering) on my 2005 QC. Since I have to basically disconnect everything I thought I’d do the rotors also. What a pain! I spent 5 hours beating the rotor hat (the area between the 5 wheel studs) with a 4 lb...

    Caliper piston seized

    Speed bleeder for a 2005 QC the Front and Rear are different, they have different size & thread pitch. Front (10mm): 4 total needed (2 per front caliper x 2) Dorman 12706 = 10mm x 1.0, 33mm long Dorman 12709 = 10mm x 1.0, 35mm long Russell 639630 = 10mm x 1.0, 33mm long Russell 639560 = 10mm x...

    WTF

Btw: When you do pull the engine, there has been a lot of discussion lately where to find the engine serial number that is stamped on the rear of the block. We all are kind of curious where (which side) and the location of the stamp. If you find any other numbers, that would be great to know...

Spark plug heat shields - Remove them, or, leave them in?

So is the coils still under the intake manifold? I don't see them if their not under there anymore.

Shock Absorber - what could have caused this?

I posted a picture of this shock months ago which was kind-of distanced view. I want to reverse the lowering done on my truck which means reversing the leaf spring from the bottom to the top of the rear axle. I got the shock removed now and for the life of me can’t understand how it could...

    Engine block number?

I still haven’t found the engine number. I actually totally forgot about it, since I was more concern getting the front end done.

Where can I find a parts manual - some parts I’m looking for are missing

Wow! That is some good info there. Strange the non-suffix is on the Drivers, and the AE is on the Passengers. I was just at the junk yard yesterday and seen that they had non-suffix (as your) and thought it was really weird to see. It was on a 2006 truck and now I wonder what the date is when...

These torque measurement are for a 2005 QC. Having just finished replacing all the stuff on the front end of my truck, I thought I'd post all of the torque measurements so you guys can easily find them. - You will notice I tried to put down the actual page number where these measurement came...

Where can I find a parts manual - some parts I’m looking for are missing

Can I ask you to do me a favor since your 2005 is in perfect condition? Can you sit down at the side of each tire and look up at in the 12 o’clock direction. About 3 inches inside the fender you will see the part number stamped on the wheel well. It is very visible and extremely easy to see...
