    Please help. srt10 questions

Well it will only be a matter of time. We are now enjoying the winter at 75 and cooling is not a concern. But summer heat, here in the Valley, is always right around the corner. If I don't sell the truck, I will post a report as the seasons change. Stay tuned.

    Please help. srt10 questions

I bought it from JMB Performance & Powdercoat. Total price with shipping, the stainless steel steering hose kit and hidden coolant overflow jug was $1,135.09. It is not a slam dunk install. The mechanical parts are straight forward. Fits like a glove. But the re-wiring and setting up the...

    Please help. srt10 questions

I bought mine in the last 6 months. Works perfect. Has 2 fans and is mounted onto a powder coated panel. Came with a complete wiring harness that was a bit time consuming to put in. It got rid of all that whining noise coming from the front of the engine. I live in the Central Valley of...

    Please help. srt10 questions

I bought mine a little over a year ago. It was a one owner with a little over 60k miles. It had been well cared for. But it did NOT have the preventative maintenance things done over the last 20 years that are needed for a performance type vehicle. Upon investigation this is what I found...

Rear brake caliper question - what do you think?

I always looked at life as a 1 lap race. I'm 80 now and rounding turn 4. Can't see the finish line yet and the tank is not empty. Hopefully, when I cross the line of bricks I will be running wide open and be able to do a gargantuan burnout to finish things off in front a packed grand stand. :p

Rear brake caliper question - what do you think?

It only gets more detailed as things and time go on. The the attitude of "Oh what he Hell' kicks in and the way you go. Only a credit limit and a wife to slow you down!! The credit card is not so much of an issue today but at times the "War Department" of 62 years doesn't know how to take a...

Rear brake caliper question - what do you think?

No. Mine is the 2004 standard cab. I'm not sure as to what the diff would be for a QC opposed to a standard. I also replaced all of the front end components. Upper and lower control arms, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, new Bilstein OEM shocks.... everything and anything that had to do with...

Rear brake caliper question - what do you think?

Front and rear are different. So are the left and right sides. Know that for a fact because just did that. You can't get it wrong. Took them off and ran them thru a hot tank to clean up and replaced the pistons and seals. Could have gotten by with the old pistons but did it anyway as long...

Rear brake caliper question - what do you think?

Did you get the calipers? Are they good? Looks like the real deal to me. For the price I would think that these would be to have as a back up.

Spark plug heat shields - Remove them, or, leave them in?

My opinion is re-locate the plug wires all together. It is a bit of a time consuming job in that you need to remove the intake. But it is nothing that any one can't do. And then install the kit that runs the plug wires direct to the plugs from the coils and get rid of all of the long wires...

    Pistol Grip shifter

SRT Up-Date. A lot of the things replaced still had some serviceable life, but when I got on the roll it was time to do it all. So far new plug wires with a direct re-location of the cables. All new front end components with tie rod ends, ball joints, wheel hub bearings and other related...

    Pistol Grip shifter

It's like every other thing I do. Trying to improve on perfection. Rear Ends are not my specialty. I get much more involved with front ends. That is where I really get down to the details...:p

    Pistol Grip shifter

Progress report. All of the front end suspension is now done and in place. Rebuilding the calipers. New seals and pistons. Took off the rear end cover plate. It was not up to spec for appearance. Things are going together nicely. When I get in back on the ground I'll have to have the...

    Pistol Grip shifter

Not sure on that. I would think that the QC would have the same set up wouldn't they? Let me look up the name of the guy that I got this one from and I'll send you his info. He would likely know. He's here in SoCal.

    Pistol Grip shifter

I'll take a picture of the original one and also a better pix of the new one and how it is bolted on. A little effort to snake around to get in place and get the bolts and nuts back in place. But is didn't require any fitting or tweaking. The original was made by Bilstein, as were the front...

    Pistol Grip shifter

You can see it in one picture. Bilstein no longer makes it. It attaches to the frame behind the cab and then bolts to the rear end casing. The guy that makes them is in SoCal. It is a billet piece and fits perfect. It also has a control valve on it that can he adjusted to increase and...

    Pistol Grip shifter

I have had my SRT for a about a year now. I bought it from a private party, one owner, in Oregon. It has about 50k on it. But, because of bad left hip I have not been able to drive it. A few weeks ago I had my hip replaced and it is now working pretty good so I might be able to drive it...
