Yea, I researched it a lot also, I had just bought the truck (in '08), and thought the transmission was going out..but I started with the cheap easy possibilities first. TPS was my first try, and maybe I was just fortunate, but it solved my problem.

I had the exact same problem with one of my other trucks, (not SRT10, but a Dodge Ram) and it was the TPS, Highly noticeable with the cruise control set. Easy fix!

I've had my truck about 3/4 weeks, and I've noticed it too. I'm definitely still not used to the motor sound, and still am skeptical to the "tick". It sounds a lot like an exhaust leak, but I can't find anything. About the loose spark plug possibility, wouldn't that cause a misfire?
