Close.. It's actually the whole plastic hood scoop insert. The black insert, fits in the bezel.

I stayed in Corporate apartments in La Jolla a few years back, it was very nice! I have to agree with Dustin though, Residence Inn or Homewood Suites will make it easy, and they are usually close to everything. I am looking forward to taking my wife down that way one of these years. San Diego...
