Since I lost about 2 mpg when I purchased my sct a while back, I became curious about 02 sensors and the effect they have on performance/ mpg. My truck still has the originals and just short 50K on the odometer. From my searching the web It appears that the 02 sensors can have a dramatic affect on both power and mpg.

Do the SCT tunes have anything to do with changing the parameters with 02 sensors settings ?

What are the recommended replacement intervals for 02 sensors ?

What are the differences between the 4 02 sensors on the truck ?

On and average , What can I expect to gain power wise & MPG wise when replacing them ?

Are there any real differences between 02 brands ?

Are there any other Sensors that that will have a dramatic change to performance and mpg that should be replaced at regular intervals ?

Is there something that can totally replace the 02 Sensors that will eliminate the sensor completely and keep the A/F from ever changing from recommended settings keeping it a constant with the computer signal ?

Good questions . Because my 02's have been a nightmare so this may help me too . I just replaced with the mopar ones they were like 250 i think for all 4

they should be part of a "good" tune up now a days

the front 2 are the main ones. tell the puter how the engine is doin as far as a/f. back 2 let the puter know how the cats are doin

been told the back 2 can be turned off with an STC. ran with the rears hangin in the air & could not tell any difference in perforance or mileage

My font too are the pain in the ass . I cant get the check engine light off

Just replaced mine after talking to Sean Roe. He said its good to change them every 3 yrs or so. I was only getting 12mpg on the highway with my Roe supercharged QC. Carbon can build up on them and limit the voltage thats sent to the PCM. I would not remove the front two since thats what will tell the PCM the amount of fuel that is need in closed loop operation. The rear two are just for monitoring the Cats. The SCT can not alter Closed loop operation (idle) A/F. I just bought mine from Oreillys for $74 for both (bosch). I doubt there is any difference between them and any other brands. There is a different part number for drivers side and passanger side. I'm driving to columbus tomorrow so I should be able to tell you if they helped my mpg.

Repoman, you may have a header leak/crack causing them to read excessive oxygen in the system.

There is NO reason to remove your front two sensors, I would try to figure out the problem.

I have hi flows will it still work you think ?

My friend did it on his srt jeep. but his rear set are throwing codes for some reason ?

It's only a few bucks and a hour of your time, can only try I guess right.

Are you going by the digital MPG on the truck?....if so, a tune can cause it to read inaccurately.....after the Roe SC install mine read I was getting 28mpg around town...LOL..

I just out them on check engine light still on . I dont know what it could be .

I have the B&G and I was told it will clear the codes from coming on due to the 02's
