I have searched and came up with nothing.

I would like to know when installing lowering blocks on a 04 RC, do you have to cut the stud the goes through the leaf springs? this stud is part of the axle tube.
If I cut them off it would make the install a snap.

any info would be great thanks.

the stud holds the spring together!!!! and keeps the diff perch aligned with the spring center. cutting it would be extremely foolish!!

the springs are held together with a studd, on the top of the spring so to say is a nubb, this centers the spring on the axle tube and holds the spring pack together

the bolt that holds the spring pack together does not go thru the axle tube, otherwise the axle would not be able to turn.
(yes I get this question a ton)

but jack up the truck

remove the u bolts

sometimes the spring pack is rusted onto the axle tube to it may take some coaxing an prying to get it apart

set the block in between the axle and spring pack

new u bolts tighten to 100 ft lbs, check every 500 miles afterwards

the only bolts you should be removing is the 8 u bolts

Thanks everyone. love the support.
