05' RC conversion to 06' RC Console and Shifter

id like to convert my 05' rc console to an 06' rc console. anyone know if there are any obstacles or special things i need to convert other than remove and replace?
 
It is a bolt in.....you will need the shifter boot and base that comes with the console...the 04/05 will not work....and I am not sure if the shifter rod is the same....you might have to trim some plastic on the bottom of the console due to placement of the black box under your middle seat...the connectors for the power plug in the console is different but all you need is a $3 connector from radio shack..

You should consider painting the console to match your interior as the 06 is completely different color...

Other than the above you should have no trouble...
 
How come majority of people dislike the 06 interior? I love it.

Only thing I can say im not crazy about with the 06 is the center console's height. With that said, I have only seen pics. Mine does not get here for about another week.

I think the 04's and 05's look a little dated for some reason, that's the main reason why i bought an 06.
 
I like the 06 dash.....but not the seats(though I wish mine were heated!) ya,I pretty much just want an 06 dash,yall can keep the rest(including the HEADLIGHTS! lol )
Not that an 06 is ugly....just like the style before better.
 
I think the 04/05's do look a little meaner... my ass will be nice and warm though. :elefant:
 
These big dogs run at 200 degrees...remember.....I can ROAST my ass if I so choose! LOL ....Now I'm thinkin "remote start" !
 
Just thought of something....you may have a problem where the console meets the dash....I have 05 seats and frame in my truck with the 06 console but of course my dash was made for the console....:dontknow:
 
I have to have a seat heater with my back problems. Trust me when I say it saves me at the end of the day, even during summer ill have the a/c blasting with the back seat heater going.
 
THANKS GUYS...im gonna do it...now all i need to do is find an 06 console
