06 Nav safety screen

Just purchased a 06 SRT10 Ram. I love the truck so far, but find the radio with the Nav annoying. It is always coming on to the screen that wants you to press Enter to clear it. Is there any shortcuts or hacks for this factory radio?

Here's the secret hack:

REPLACE IT!

The NAV in my '06 is friggin horrible. I think the display and usability on a $100 portable Garmin is FAR superior the the factory unit.

I have a 06 with the NAV as well (REC radio). Does the radio do what you describe each time it is turned on? You're vehicle may need a reflash if the original owner changed out the OEM radio with after market, then swapped it back in for resale? :dontknow:

WOW. That Chrome TB looks Wicked.... Now im going to Haft to Buy one.

My My dad drives an 06 Toyota Avilon. And every-time he cranks his car, the same screen your talking about pops up. While at the Toyota dealership getting the oil changed, i said something about it and the guys there said there was no shortcut around it. It was something everybody had to put up with regardless, a new law for anything 06 and Up..... I know it Sucks, but eventually it just becomes another thing you do when you get in your car, Like buckling your seat-belt and you forget all about it.

He did say something about cutting a few wires that show the computer when your trucks in park, It will make the screen stop appearing every-time you turn your truck on, But at the same time, allow you to accidentally crank the engine over in all gears including reverse and drive, If your willing to take the Risk go for it..... But other than that.
