I'm taking my truck today for an oil change. I've got the filter, but how many quarts of Mobile1 oil should I take with me for an '06? I seem to remember seeing some contradicting information around here based on year, if the oil filter is pre-loaded, etc. Is there any other special info I should let my mechanic know? Thanks in advance! :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

Do it yourself I am as rookie as could be and it was easy

I've having him put in my 170 degree thermostat too.. I'll leave this stuff to the "experts".

Yeah it's very easy, and you'll know its done right. Preload the filter though, it holds more than you would think!

Dealers will charge ya 90-110 for an oil change
Dealer charges me $14.95 when i bring the oil.

I stop by autozone, advance auto, or Oriellys and find out who has a mobil 1 special for $25.99.

I buy 2-5 quart and oil filter specials for $51.

Then after my oil change i return the 2 oil filters for a full refund of $13.99 each.

So i get 10 quarts of oil for $24. I use 8 quarts and a bottle of lucas. I get the viper oil filter for $12.99 I pocket 2 Mobil 1 for top offs.

Save money big time.
