If you are talking about the 2 each 2 inch slits (one Left and one Right) on the back of the Front Seat Center Console.... These are to allow the Hinge that supports the Lower Half of the Center Console... The Top half doesn't have a slit but when you raise the Lower Half the rear drops and rolls forward and the Henges slide through the Slits....
