Just need to know, if anyone can help.., I'd like to build a reliable daily driver, a 4 to 4.5 sec 0 to 60 mph truck... I'd like to spend about 10k or so, to achieve this... Is this real or do I need to build the motor ... I just don't want a grenade, I'd like a dependable motor that can handle 20k miles a year... I've had superchargers with stock motors, low boost, etc... and have had bad results... Just thought the SRT 10 motor could handle more than the rest.. Seems like the QC auto deal is detuned or sumthing compared to the RC... Thanks for any help....Lates...

Sticking with the stock internals, and wanting to acheive those results (IMO) won't get you 20k a year for very long. That is, unless, you never "get on it" and drive it like a school bus.

You're going to want to beef up your stock internals to make for a more reliable machine. Can the supercharger can be run on low PSI on stock internals? yes. Is it going to beat on the stock internals at the same time? yes.

sounds like a great goal!! I think Boomer can help! But the 20k a year:dontknow: Not gonna happen!!:( how long do you plan on owning the truck?:dontknow: what beat you? and can you afford what it takes to achive your goal. I cant afford to!!! Mr Cash said it best!! IMO! " dont take your guns to town son, leave your guns at home bill":D

Thank's for the reality check....Exactly what I needed to know...
I put miles like that on the truck for real, I normally exit a ride in about 3 yrs, but, this one I would like to keep for awhile, as I really dig the truck and the motor... Kinda dissapointed with the performance...handles well...looks great with the lowering kit and 24" wheels, just need to tap the Viper powered potential... The trannie's soft at best..and the motor seems to be softened compared to my car.. I'm sure it's an auto tranny thing, detuned somewhat, compared to the car... But trannies can be built, and motors straightened out, just a cash thing... I guess.... no quick fixes... as I've supercharged Vette's and Hummer's, blowed up both!!! For the price, kinda sux that Dodge did'nt built it like the earlier forged motors, but it is what it is.... Still want to get it done... Any shops in or near Vegas to obtain this goal? Thanx for all your support!!! Take Care....

Depends on how ya want to go bro, it can be done well no it cant:D

First off here we go,

carillo rods makes a drop in rod , and diamond I think makes a drop in piston.
you need to contact Not a Hemi for these details.

that would give you a semi strong bottom end.

next the best to consider would be a self install to save money, for that I suggest a Roe supercharger, cheap, reliable.$7000

A paxton self install will cost bucks, either way, too much time and money but will give ya better power delivery.$10,000

or consider a single turbo deal with low boost. with a piston and rod upgrade and low boost, a cheap fuel system and doing the work yourself you should be good.$6000

but the kicker is withthe miles yout travel you need to contact Nowwhat and get his guy to do the tranny, hasnt seen a lick of problems, suncoast is good , but many have had problems.
this will run ya around $4000 alone

then ya gonna possible look at a rear axle upgrade for a detroit locker to get better traction and more choices of rims, $3800

there ya go
or you can buy a built bottom end, capable of 1500hp for around $12,000

Gr8 info Stinker, in your opinion... can I build a natural motor to obtain this goal for 15k or so?... Do I really need a blower or turbo? or for 15k.. is this realistic?... Again 20k miles a year...YIKES..huh... Resale is then limited to how GR8 the vehicle looks... again, work truck... but not a gr8 write off...LOL!!!! Thanx for the help.....

Not sure the QC is capable of a 4.0 0 to 60 without a lot of motor and running slicks is it ?

As long as the right setup will handle 20k miles a year, I want to see if it's realistic... I might be outa my mind, would'nt be the first time for sure...LOL!!
On some of the sites I've visited, no problem, but in our world, HMMMM... I'm sure the guys on this site will set me straight either way.... That's why we are all here, right.... to find out whats real for sure.... It's all good either way, like everyone, just trying to figure all this out.... Bottom line... It's all good!!!!!! Thanks for all your replies!!!!!!!

Most of the "feelin" you are getting is dodge pulled timing and so on from the puter to save the tranny on take off from the tq of the v-10

If you want a strong livable motor, this would be my suggestion.

get a Roe supercharger around $7000

after that send the computer to have it flashed for the tranny trq limiter
$400

then get a full exhaust with long tube headers, mids(cats are your option depending on emmissions in your area) and a magnaflow exhaust.
Probably around $3-4000 depending on header selection

then a shift kit to firm up the bands during shift, to increase tranny life $250 or so installed.

Maybe even opt for a x-metal throttle body, and a Cold air intake from Justin

And find a tuner, a "real" tuner, one that is dedicated to vipers and get the truck tuned.

the tune that Roe sends with the Roe SC'r is super duper safe and more power can be made, or stay with the tune they send and have no worries

this should get you around 600 or so rwhp a super strong, super fun truck, one you should never get tired of.

you can also opt for a mopar cam and pushrods, that could give you a tad more for around what $500 or so

encore, stinker knows his stuff!!!! stick with him!! He wont steer you wrong!! there are a lot of great people here!!! Prof can tell you more about the ROE, and so can Eddie! Eddie has a quad cab and just installed his!! Heck everyone here can help with the execption on me:eek: i cant afford to upgrade:( but im happy with my truck the way it is!! Muzzy might help also! he doesnt log on a lot! Check with "Azproguy" he is in the Phoenix area and has a modded truck, i think its a qc! (among other toys:rock: ) I could go on and on!!! Boomer is the MAN!!!! Oh by the way!!! WELCOME TO YOUR NEW HOME!!!

Stinker is right...except for the CAI with the Roe...does not exist...but he knows that, just slipped past him...but his other recommendations are right on.

next time your in bama give me a hollar and you can take mine down the road and see what ya think. traction is the main issue at this point.

You can run a CAI with a Roe setup. I run one and there is another member that runs one. Do a search under Roe CAI. It will take a little fabrication but looks sweet. I have not done any dyno testing to see if it generates more power but you definitely gain visual horsepower.

I really can't believe the srt 10 motor is as lame as my 2000 rt 10 motor...holy crap!!! homework is priceless.... 2007, or 2006, and still not a forged motor, wtf, and no-one has developed an exhaust system that sounds a little better than an upright Hoover... But, GDI, I love hav'n a ride that hardly anyone else has... And both the car and the truck turns heads... Silly, but, the same reason you guys are here too... 20k miles a year.. just better build the rt10 and leave the truck alone... hmmmm... hate that f'n last part....
