06 Quad in Manual

Im doing my research on the 06 SRT before i put down my money on one.

I am not going to do much mods to the truck, except for K&N and a catback system. And I am really thinkning about converting the column shift to a floor shifter like what one of the member on here did.

However, i was thinking. It would be cool for the quads to be manual. I personally dont like regular cab trucks. Just saying, if i bought perfectly good transmission out of wrecked 06 RC or if someone is just selling one on eBay.

can the manual transmission replace the automatic one? Or would it better to buy an engine and transmission combo out of a RC if it was possible?

anything is possible with enough cash. i think a few have looked into the conversion. i dont think anyone has done it to date. i could be wrong. it would be cool. and if you are getting a QC a SCT or Stage II comp as well as cat deletes are a must. if i had it to do over that may be the only 2 mods i would have. night and day with sct/cat delete over when i only had k&n cai/magnaflow catback

Can be done but like Ken said I cant think of any here that have......Only problem may be that the extra weight might be hard on the clutch..:dontknow:

There is only like 350lbs difference right? After all the manual stuff I've had I'm actually relieved to get an auto. I'm tired of shifting. If you decide to take the manual path be sure to document it so we can see. I love a good project truck read with lots of pics.

I have the following pieces:

Fidenza aluminum flywheel
"NEW" Centerforce clutch
Viper upgraded master and slave cylinder
JMB Performance clutch reservoir mount
T56 transmission with Six Speeds Inc Stage 4 rebuild kit
Necessary pedals needed for clutch and brake
Transmission cross member
Center console in truck for a 2005 style dash
X-metal Gen X shifter
Stock shifter
Stock master and slave cylinder

All pieces have about 5000 miles on them except the clutch, it is new.

All I want in return is $$$, your automatic petal setup and center console. PM me if interested, or anyone else for that matter.

the engine blocks are different on the bell housing from the auto to the stick as well

I guess to know for sure would have to ask a Viper Tech or someone that toys around with Viper engines and tranny?

Not sure if we have any here in the southeastern part of PA

Hopefully 1qksrt will chime in. He put a QC motor in an RC and would have the details on how to work out the bell housing issue.
