Thought this was funny as hell. Do not attempt this on your tuner's dyno as he would likely laugh his ass off when you asked to do this. If those straps budged during a shift they would have really had something worthy of video.

All I can say is... seriously?

I've heard of people doing "top end pulls" on a dyno (which is also completely dumb and unrealistic), but this is just funny.

The sad thing is he only got a 12.48 (missed a shift) with a 1.29 60'. Pitiful. Learn to drive a stick, man. I haven't missed a shift in my truck yet.

Does anyone know where this tuner is? Judging from that guys pulls, my truck is probably good for high 11's. Now if only I could get them to print me a time slip....

I've missed 1-2 shifts, 2-3 shifts, & 3-4 shifts. :hmpf:

I have a B&M shifter in my truck, and it was in there when I took delivery... so I shouldn't be so dismissive about missing gears. I've missed plenty in my day... just haven't in the 1.5 years of owning this truck, that's all.

But the vid clearly shows them blaming the transmission. If its truly messed up, then they shouldn't have been "racing" it on the dyno (or anywhere else for that matter).

:dontknow:<----that's really all I can say, even worse that it was still only a 12.48 just spinning the rollers

what a fkin idiot!

i did do a top speed pull in my truck though... hit the rev limiter in 5th at 164 and tried it in 6th and the truck was still pulling at 198 (it was a 200 mph rated dyno so we shut it down)...

so technically i've been almost 200 mph in my truck, lol:D

they actually have a mustang dyno that is claimed to be accurate to .01 seconds in the 1/4.. Ive seen some pulls with proper drag cars on them, and they matched up timeslips to .01 or less... I guess they are suposto put in your car which the program knows the size shape and drag weight and all this ****,, and apparently you can get a decent read out of them... they even come with a projector and a tree, so you can see on the video where you are on the track and all this fun stuff.... who knows probably more accurate than that Gforce meter you stick on your dash.. which also claims to be .1 accurate

theres 10000s of utube videos

No hard feelings, Homie. I was just being honest. I don't miss gears anymore unless the clutch is hot. And by now I have learned what my truck likes and what it doesn't so I don't hot lap it.

How is the Gen IV conversion treating you?

And see... I have a very good shifter, and a new clutch (not that the old one gave me problems... but my truck also only has 16k miles on it)... so I don't have any excuses. :)

I'm very pleased with how my truck runs. Seat of pants, based on years and years of experience, tell me it will run low-12s on street tires, which is no slouch. Certainly would have liked a little more power from the conversion, but on the street it pulls extremely well.

Well... I've just learned something new. Cool vid of the Duster.

However, it is obvious to all of us that the tools have to be in the hands of people who know what they are doing. A 1.29 60' time in our trucks would be impossible without the power and suspension of something like that 9-sec Duster... I mean, it only ran 1.4x 60' time and it is a dedicated drag car.
