I went to the local track to play a little. Temps were 73* and no traction out of the hole or hitting second. 28lb air in rear. 100% stock, not even a k&n air filter.

Best time was 8.954 @ 81.598 mph.
Best light cut was .503, not on best time.
best 60' was 2.230.

Times were:
9.097
8.954 This was my goal. Just to break into the 8's
9.555 missed 3rd.
9.390 feathered clutch
9.375 spin 1 & 2 with 28lb rear.

Got some video of me getting smoked by a stang with d/r built with s/c running in the sevens.:burnout:

Video is on someone elses camera. Will try to post as soon as I can get it.

This track has no way around the water and all I did was drive through it and turn the tires over to dry them.(no burnout)

My friend that owns the track said that the glue they put down on the track hurts street tires and that I would get better traction on the road then the track. I need d/r bad.

I know you got more than that, my QC is doing 8.4's @85mph. I can say its easy for me having an auto tranny.....just mash the gas and hang on. Practice makes perfect, and get some DR's.

BUT is yours stock 100%?:dontknow:
Traction was killing me...d/r would have got me at least another 2 tenths.
My temps were 210+ each run too...

I may have to get some goodies soon...headers, power sticks, rear cat delete, intake, 4.56, shifter, d/r's, a tune, the list would never end. That's why it's all stock(dont want the mod bug):marchmellow:

My question is why the hell do people even race the 1/8th... a waste of time go to the 1/4 track and have some fun

Some people only have 1/8 tracks within a reasonable distance....fortunetly I do have a 1/4 but I have met people there that have driven 100+ miles to get to my track....long ways to drive for 3-4 hrs fun and maybe get to run 4-5 times..

Answer:

This track is about 1/4 mile from my house. Owner is my neighbor. There are no 1/4 tracks in the area and I am not driving 3 hours to go racing. So I do what I gotta do, with what I have to work with. So 1/8 is what I run.
Do you run any 1/4 tracks in Canada?

The owner of this track told me that insurance in this state for 1/4 mile is just rediculous compared to 1/8.

Are your tracks measured in Kilometers? lol:marchmellow:

I did cut a .503 light...

Are you waiting for the Green light to come on:dontknow:

What RPM's are you shifting you at? I think with more seat time you'll kill this time:rock:

I am staging deep and leaving on the last yellow.

I actually have some good seat time. The track was slick for street tires. The owner said they sprayed glue on the track and it was not good for street tires.

Try this link...I was there for t&t on may 22 in the pics.
I cut a few heads off... and was skinned by a 7 sec built stang...

I am going again tonight and try to get my times consistent no matter what they are. I am running within .3 tenths each time.(not close enough to win on sat race)

Anyone want to join in on the fun? I know there are some close VAB guys with 10's.
What else can you do on a fri night for $20 and have soooo much fun?

You should be running way faster though...

Yeah, BUT no traction was an issue, and I am only leaving at 1500rpm so I dont burn it down...:marchmellow:

I hear ya, I get killed in bracket racing. Those automatics can get it dialed in on the button.

Shifting at 5500 and trying to hit 3rd. I missed it once the other night.:burnout:
