10' Camaro Resonator Location

I've always thought that resonators went at the rear of the car close to the tip, after the muffler.

On the Camaro I was talking to my buddy and he keeps telling me that the rear boxes at the tips are the mufflers. I just don't/didn't believe him. The boxes are huge like on any new car and are made big and acoustically tuned to cancel out the resonation and drone.

But after looking at this pic........ those two things in front of the axle have to be resonators. they are just too small to be mufflers.

What y'all think?

I'm not an SME....but I would have to agree with you.

It's not that unusual to put a resonator ahead of the mufflers. And yes you are correct, the boxes at the rear are mufflers, the others are resonators.

Yes, the resonators are after the cats on the Camaro. and the mufflers before the tailpipes. I'll show ya pics of mine when there in the trash. Quietest damn car I have never heard.
