Gotta love Hawai'i! Not! And this dealership is supposed to be the sponsor for the DTW club I am a member of here.:(

Does anybody know roughly how much it would cost to do the change myself? (For ammunition if they piss me off later.):D

K&N Filter - $10
Mobil 1 10W-30 Synthetic - (2) 5qt jugs at $24 a piece at Walmart

Total - $58 bux. Not including the option to add some oil stabilizer as well (such as Lucas Oil).

oil changes

I just changed mine and paid a little over 51.00 for 0W-40 Mobil 1 oil alone. That was for 8 qts.

For you to do it yourself Kris....I figure:

$687.49

$60.00 for oil and filter
$27.49 Taxi to get you off base and to NAPA and back
$400.00 for stripped oil plug requiring replacement of oil pan; and replacement of stripped oil filter mount.
$100.00 to clean up the spilled oil in your driveway
$100.00 for new shirt and pants that are soaked in old oil..

Then you will also forget to replace the oil cap, and oil dip stick and the new oil will be covering your entire engine compartment, it will soak your pcm and then your truck will run lean and your wife will blow it up on the way to the base exchange....:D

So maybe the total will be about ... oh, $14,000 give or take a little...

My dealer charges about 95 bucks..............

My problem is the charges for disposal of the oil.......

They ought'a be technologically able to somehow reviscositize oil by now and just recycle it for use in fkn lawnmowers or something....

D

Welcome to Hawaii Krazy!!! Stay bent over, somebody else is in line to stick it to ya!!! LOL

Costs the same on Maui. At least when you do it yourself, you know its being done properly. Usually about $60 or so.
