I've just purchased a 170 T stat, but Im getting conflicting opinions on what it will do to my PCM. I was told by one of my mechanics here that by putting it in it might throw a code for engine temp low for to long, has anyone here had that problem, and if so is there a way to reprogram the PCM to accept the change? He also mentioned it may cause my engine to call for more fuel causing possible cat problems???? Any advice will be usefull:dontknow:

No problem, The t-stat is recomended By Dan At Dc. I think it helps prevent pinging also. I dont think know one here has had problems with their Pcms Throwing codes and causing fuel problems. The PCm should actually help your engine run smoother according to Dan

when i did my t-stat, i ran for awhile before i did my sct tuning from krc performance...... temps were about the same as before....... didn't notice any cooler runnings until after i put my tunes in & i had already eliminated my cats.......:)

No problems here....

WELL THATS SOUNDS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME, THANKS AGAIN!!!

I have had one in my truck for 2 years now, and I have never had a problem.

Bill.

with a stock pcm....you won't notice much difference/improvement.have pcm reflashed with a (stageII) or a sct programer.
