If anyone is interested, i went to my local dealer and he is selling a 1999 Viper GTS/ACR. It is black with 2 silver stripes and a black interior. It was stored at his home, has less than 3,000 miles on it. The car has never been titled. He is asking $65,000. The original window sticker is for $84,000. I know the price is high, but this car is in brand new condition.

Before I bought my SRT Coupe I found an '01 Sapphire Blue/Silver Stripe ACR. 1,000 miles. Perfect!

Original owner traded it in on a new Vette.:dontknow:

Chevy Dealer was asking $72,900 for it. I passed (Obviously).

Eventually they did sell it. Low 60's IIRC. Sweet Cars!

Actually, from what I saw when I was still shopping, low-mile pristine example GTS cars were in the mid to high 50's, so the ACR option should be worth a bit more. Also, the '99 still has the forged internals!:)

sorry , but a new 2008 ACR will be less 100K ..
as i see it , they are NOT yet collectibles so 84K window sticker ?, i think 42K now would be good for a near 10 year old car with 400 HP , not so unsual these days... ...... :D

PS and not even ABS ! :p

Since it is a dealer demo I think $58K is fair...99 ACR is probably the best car for gen II Vipers. 460hp, upgraded interior, black w/ silver stripes. If one was looking for this car they would pay $60K for it! On a track there is still not much that can hang with it,

99's are the highest valued....you get forged pistons, 708 cam, new style interior, 18" wheels...

Check the adjustable shocks for leaks. I've also heard that adjusting them (shocks) is a pain in the butt. Finally, make sure you get the tool for the adjustable shocks should you buy it.

I'm wanting a sapphire/silver stripe '01 GTS ACR with 2450 miles on it, completely stock. airbag thingies are still attached. The guy is asking $69,900. So, the $65K for the one mentioned in this thread seems reasonable.

Do it Dave...you know you want to! 01-02 ACR's are awesome. I like the red/white stripe look!

Plus the '00 up cars DO NOT have forged pistons... ;)

Thats ok, this one would stay original. I've been down the modded Viper/SRT Ram route already...too expensive. A bone stock ACR with its limited production numbers (not to mention the ones already wrecked) will fetch some nice money in the future.

not offending but i think it is not because everybody ask that much for a "old" car this resembles his value.:dontknow:

I think if you get 1/2 new price for a , let's say 7 year old one , no matter how many miles, that would be fair.

Now who pays near 70K for a 7 year old one if you can buy new ( and much better ! ) for less 100K ????   unless that type would become a real collectable in future... :dontknow:

What i see on those forums classifieds are cars asked alot for but stay there for a year... ofcourse we never see the actual price in case of deals....What i see on Ebay gives me a feeling that on vipers the common asked prices are sure 10K overrated.

I agree! I think the 2nd gen Vipers (especially the GTS/ACR) will hold their value better than any of the other cars (or trucks) in the viper line. :)

99 is the year to have in my opinion - however I think that price is a little high even for the ACR. I looked for a 99 ACR also, and decided the 99 GTS was more my price range..... :D

Damn salesman was to call me back after we spoke today...he has let me down...may have to call the sales manager and get some weight on this process.
