1st time out - SpeedWorld Motorplex (AZ)

Beyond the Sun....
Tonight was my first time out with the truck... made a total of 8 passes.

Best run was 14.223 @ 90.875, 60 ft 2.187, r/t .566
2nd best was 14.818 @ 93.525, 60 ft 2.195, r/t .389
3rd best was 14.871 @ 93.626, 60 ft 2.216, r/t .085

My best reaction time was almost a perfect light @ .005, but the run sucked at 15.033 @ 92.611, 60ft 2.305.. dunno what happened there..a perfect light at this track is .000

I figured I did not do to bad for being out in the truck first time... its has been over 4 years since raced last...which was in my 2000 Trans Am, which was stolen in 2002, I was running 12.9 @ 104, with a reaction times of .505 (perfect light for that track is .500)

I think that if I do the headers, mids, and stage 2 computer, I can get into 13's.

What was the temp at the track....?.....
 
Low 90's when I started, on my last run it was around 85 or so. I think that I am spinning alot coming out of the hole.... as my best run I launched at about 2500 rpm... the others I was launching around 3500-4000.

spinning would account for your 60'....with a $400.00 set of Caltracs and your tires at 22 psi you should be able to pull a 2.0 60' and gain .4 sec on your Et...but the problem is your trap speed...a stock RC even in hot weather should be trapping at 100 mph...A flash and a little dyno tuning will make a huge difference....

jeez i think your is broken too? we have no choice but to start the mods
 
yeah your trap speed is awfully low....a little confused though, your sig says you have a QC so how could you launch at 4000RPMS:dontknow:

That would not be good............................Trap speed is always an indicator of HP; either your elevation and heat are killing you, or you need some serious mods.:dontknow:

Little bit of power breaking.. not enough to spin... I was trying several different launch styles to get better times...

Yeah.. that was my main problem, I thought that I should at least hit 100 at the traps.. but NO MATTER what I did I just could not seem to get it do it..

It did seem to be shifting awfully quick.. however..

Yeah.. that what my next mods look like they will be... what was strange was as the night went on my reaction times got better, but my ETs and trap speeds got slower... my VERY first pass was the fastest ET of them all...
 
I was getting 87-90 mph traps on the 1/8th, your traps should be a lot higher! a 2.1 60 really isnt too bad with factory 22's!!

yeah.. tell me about it.. well. I have some extra cash coming in here shortly with some property of mine that I have been selling.... wont be enough to do a supercharger.. but should be plenty to get:

Headers, Caltracs, Flashed ECM (goona get a spare), mids, and dyno time.

Also make sure you put it in Tow/haul mode....you want to trap in 3rd....the flash will raise your shift points and your redline....Call Dan at DC performance 310-841-6996...his flash will amaze you....

Follow the fast ones advice!!!! Whats the elevation there? I bet your up there, that would explain the slower trap speed.

Yeah.. after I left last night.. on way home I thought about the Tow/Haul Mode.... there is always next time..

You really think that would do it.... I did not think that 1240 feet was too bad... go visit the San Francisco peaks on Flag sometime.. they are 12,633 feet!! :) (which BTW is the highest point in AZ) but no dragstrips around that area that I know of....probably a good reason for not having them!!
