2003 Aprilia Limited Edition Tuono R

I am selling my Touno R, I bought this motorcycle brand new in 2003. It is #194 of 200 made worldwide, only 50 came to the US. it has 2300 miles on it.

It has;

The Aprilia racing 57mm injectors and Carbon Fibre air box kit.

The Aprilia Racing Akrapovic 2 into 2 Titianium-Stainless exhaust.

The Aprilia Racing Carbon Fibre upper chain guard.

The Aprilia Racing Carbon Fibre center radiator-horn cover.

A Carbon Fibre lower chain guard from AF1.

Zero Gravity Smoked sport touring windscreen.

PC III engine module.

Rear fender eliminator kit (I have a NIB rear undertray).

The Aprilia kit to use the rear foot pegs with the Akrapovic exhaust.

Both sets of seats that came with it new.

Evoluzione ignition amplification box.

I have everything to return it to 100% stock.

This bike was dyno tuned on a "Factory" Eddy Current Dyno.

You will never find a better cared for motorcycle, it is flawless. This bike has never seen rain. All totaled up I have $25,000.00 in this motorcycle, let my loss be your gain.

In the US they were titled as 2003, in Europe they are 2002s.

It is fuel injected 998cc v-twin, it weighs 450 lbs fully fueled.

It has all carbon fiber & Carbon/Kevlar bodywork.

On the Eddy Current (which give more accurite but slightly lower number than a Mustang dyno) in made 129 rear wheel horsepower, and 72 lb ft of torque.

With the light weight, short wheelbase, upright riding position, and the torque, this thing is a wheelie machine. you cannot go full throttle in first or it will wheelie over backward. And when second gets into the power band the front wheel is comming up, quickly.

This bike should only be ridden by skilled riders.

Below 100 MPH this is the craziest motorcycle ever sold to the public.

While it will go 150 MPH, with little wind protection I don't advise it.

I just called and told Brian about this... He's been looking at Ducati's for a "nice, quiet, low-key" alternative to his Busa. .... But, this is right up his alley. He hadn't herd of it before (neither have I ), but he LOVES Aprilia. :rock:

The bike has a rider's seat and a passenger pad, well Aprilia gave two sets with these bikes. One set is a woven material to match the Carbon/Kevlar look, I put those in a storage bag when I bought the bike. The other set is the black ones you see on the bike in the pics. The black ones are more for everyday use, the woven ones are mostly for that "look".

Sorry to see you letting it go. I'm sure you feel as I did when I finally got rid of the RSVR. For those not familiar the engine is Rotax built. I abused the hell out of that engine in my RSVR...over 15K miles of track duty before I spun a lower bearing. As comparison the other 'hot vtwin' at the time was the Honda. Most guys I raced with could only get about 4000 miles before rebuild. Iwon't even mention Ducati's service life....Doh!

During the tear down we noticed (actually Dan Kyle @ Kyle Racing) that the oil holes in the crank journal were barely camfered. Every other item in the engine was still within spec. We camfered and did a basic rebuild. I put another 7-8K track miles on the bike before I sold it. I learned later that the following year Aprilia began camfering that journal. Begood's bike has all the minor updates Rotax did to that engine. I'd have no issue racking 100K miles and expect no issues.

I also owned 2 Aprilia Futura's with essentially the same engine (slightly detuned) put over 30K miles on each of them and ran as good as the day I bought them.

Its a special bike Aprilia put together and Begood's updates do nothing but add to the package.
